I don't know what to do.

My sister lives with my elderly mother, and my sister cannot be trusted to manage her medication.

She takes a quarter of a months supply in one day because she ran out, and still self harms, and hears voices and never stops talking about them but does nothing to deal with them.

I'm scared of her, and I just want her to go away and leave my mum in peace.

But I'm scared to do anything because I don't know what she'll do to my mum or me.

What can I do to save my mum in this situation?

Are people who suffer with BPD just genuinely unable to behave responsibly?

Hello out there,

I'm asking this question because I have experienced years of a person with BPD making literally the same self destructive choices.

I'm not trying to be insensitive, I just genuinely wonder, are all people with BPD able to know they are behaving irresponsiby but cannot help themselves?

Like, how do people with BPD function at all if they can be triggered by anything, they know they can be triggered, but they don't want to get treatment?

Sorry for the long post.
