I would blame jiang fengmian mostly. She was blinded by jealousy from soo long and he did nothing to try heal it.He indulged her when she is doing something wrong.the fact that he cared for wwx more than jc was also something which made her more angry.

Yes, how she treated him was wrong, but I think, any person in her position (except maybe yanli,wuxian) would not really be loving that child, she being someone who values her pride more, and wants her husband to just cancel the rumours (which that guy hadn't did) just had been a bit more offensive. But the fact that jc was also punished alongside him most of the times!!
