Wye vs Delta on whoop motors.
I was in the car thinking about life and where the world is headed, so i started drinking a few beers and then somehow got to thinking about if Wye vs Delta applies to use whoop pilots.
In theory…..yes?
#1 how in the world do i find out if i have one or the other?
If you look on your motor between the bell and the base around the edge. A sign of a Wye configuration is a lil baby wire that is really short and heat shrinked.
That is your neutral, which isnt used, and should represent the center dot on the Wye configuration.
Delta however, aint got no neutral, so if you just see a clean motor bell all the way around, there is a good chance that you have a delta config.
From what i understand to sum it all up.
Wye is good for beginner pilots, cinewhoopers, recon, inspection. Anything that needs a smooth motor response.
Then Delta, that gives you more on demand torque and is more efficient in the higher power, also apparently gives you access to “full rated torque”
That seems nice to have :) but is it worth having a quad i have to tame with betaflight settings…
How do you guys feel about that?
Am i just kinda off in the weeds taking it too seriously? xD
