i feel my computer on this one at a personal level
i am in Emergency Mode at all times.
this happened because i was playing sims 3 and the surge protector got flipped off by accident (my cat was being suspicious so i got up really quickly and it pressed the switch into something lol). when i booted it back up it took like 5 mins to boot and when i did everything was like completely frozen. no cursor no desktop icons and laggy as hell. when i moved my mouse around occasionally it would highlight an icon on the taskbar. it wouldn't boot into emergency mode every time but when it did i was able to back up important files. i ended up getting a new ssd and installing mint on it. i'm not sure what the problem was or if it was saveable but it seemed like all my files were fine. i should have looked at the log files but ill be honest i have no idea what im doing i wouldn't have been able to decipher it lol.
