Silk sketch
Lyra is still my personal favorite apparatus but silks are fun to draw.

Lyra is still my personal favorite apparatus but silks are fun to draw.
This was from our recital today and I really loved having the privilege and experience to sing this feminist anthem. And also appreciate the help with getting the microphone fixed.
Who are short or just keep getting cast to fill guy roles. Playing a Brooklyn Newsie now and lost count with how many times I've been a pretend dude on stage. What's your favorite times you've gender bent for shows?
Threw on a loose cosplay for a last minute aerial shoot at our studio's anniversary party. Figured Cheshire cat was a good inspiration.
This move used to scare me. Now it feels kinda easy! Progress!
Adjusting to the pressure and balance is wild but still fun! Lyra is still my fave though.
Do you ever find yourself just looking at suspended objects or fixtures in the ceiling or otherwise and wonder to yourself "can I spin on that?" It can't be just me.
I really wish I was more flexible but this is close enough for me on the upper bar. Also feeling super strong lately!
Lyra is my apparatus but I have a lot more fun drawing silks. Here's my sketch!
To get used to spinning! And dare I say felt actually kinda graceful? Hoping to work up more spin tolerance and get faster with harder moves added as well. Also weeeeeeee!
It's hard to believe that just a few weeks ago I was feeling down about no bookings. This year has taught me to keep working, stay positive and take as many classes as you can to be better.
So far I have auditioned 14 times and had only two callbacks. But both of those call backs ended up with offers!
I'm so excited to have booked Prudy Pingleton in Hairspray at our local professional theater for next year!
I also got a small part as a nun and a Brooklyn newsie in Newsies, one of those shows I am just happy to be there for.
It's wild to think that when it rains it pours. Two offers in two days! And I can't wait to get paid to pretend to be a terrible person!
Weeeeeee
Worked on conditioning and spins this weekend. Feeling super strong lately!
Tee hee. I think I started a cult at Broadway Rave in Atlanta last night. You'll be back. ;)
Worked on this during a vocal and acting seminar and this was the best take. Had a tough year with many auditions, no callbacks and only two offers so far. Pushing through and working especially on acting with this side of me as opposed to the usual sassy funny Girl character I end up being cast as. Here's my take on Funny Girl. Don't come for me, Barbra.
But here's a variation of Around the World I just learned. Weirdly not as scary as it looks?
I am still getting mental freeze whenever I get upside down. I've gotten so much more comfy with turtle and that upside down move but now the straddle is my newest struggle. Trying not to get in my head and look at the progress. So close!
My awkward self performing Roxie's monologue from Chicago. Trying to stay positive during kind of a bummer of an audition season. Only booked one small part in a play and a singing competition out of 8 tries so far. This was for our ending showcase after several weeks of practicing. Constructive criticism is welcome!
