Does anyone else’s family fight over food?

I don’t get it. I had weight loss surgery a few years ago, so I am aware that I don’t eat like a normal person. However, the binge eating by everyone else paired with the intense anger over other people eating food….I feel like I have ration food so others won’t fight over it.

So today my husband came home from work and I got the cookies that my daughter baked last night out of their hiding spot (which he knows about, the kids just don’t) and he immediately looks in the container and has a meltdown because there are 5 cookies left. There were only 8 before, but I had one and I gave one to each of the kids when they got home from school. He can literally have the rest of the cookies, but he has to make a huge deal out of it.

Another time, we had two of those cups of already prepared pomegranate. My son ate one, I said the other day as for his sister. She talked about it a lot, but didn’t eat it. Several days later, he asks if he could have it again. It was expiring that day, so I said yes and my daughter totally flipped out. Clearly she wasn’t actually going to eat it.

Is infodumping excitedly about my day at work really that bad?

I love my job and when I come home, it is just natural to me to tell my husband all about it. However, he always gets visibly annoyed and then sometimes he is rude to me about it. I just feel like he doesn’t really care about my day. I get it that I can be loud and I just talk so fast, but I feel like he wants me to not do this. It honestly makes me feel like he doesn’t love me. My whole life, I just wanted someone to love me the way I am.

Has anyone else experienced this?
