Hi i’m from the UK

so my question is why do bangladeshi migrants especially student migrants not speak english even to a minimum standard such as b1. they struggle so much to express themselves and find it hard to connect with others.

id like to understand why they migrate to the UK where they mostly speak english cause my heart goes out for all these people i have met from Bangladesh cause i cant imagine the amount of stress they have cause social interactions are anyways stressful and when one doesn’t speak english , theres another added layer of stress on top of that

please don’t think im coming from a bad place. im just genuinely curious about this situation since i have 3 bangladeshi coworkers who struggle to express themselves at all and use hand gestures to express basic ideas.
