Papa Smurf (Human Size?)

Papa Smurf (Human Size?)

I was looking through some old news magazine for the company I work for (Weis Markets). I was looking at the photos of store openings/reopening when I saw a mascot who clearly looked like he could be Papa Smurf. It felt so random and there was no reference as to why he was there except a list of a few donations to companies mentioned. Lol

What do you think?

Confederate Money is NOT Worthless

I've been thinking back to the episode "A Night of Fright is No Delight" and how it turned out the Million Dollars was actually in Confederate money. While I understand it was meant to be a gag, I thought it was crazy that Velma, out of all people, didn't realize Confederate money was still worth SOMETHING. Sure, it obviously didn't have any legal face value, they ABSOLUTELY still had historical and rarity value. I don't know what the value and scarcity of Confederate money would have been back in the 60s, but it certainly wasn't nothing lol.

What are some movies or shows where the music or soundtracks between movies or shows changed dramatically? What were the changes in instrumentation and melody, and did it have a noticeable effect on how you perceived world building?

The show I got into years ago was Netflix's adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events. I think at the time I was so captivated by the storyline that I decided to read all the books before the second season came out. However, I realized looking back at the show how Season 2 had failed to capture the interpersonal emotions of the Baudelaires and the mystery behind VFD. First season (With James Newton Howard) did an epic job at using murky-style music and accordion harmonics to capture it. Season 2, however decided to drop the murky vibe and settle for something that felt far less personal and too action-oriented. It failed to create something that could have been truly immersive storytelling.
