My Horsea Used agility twice, then got para'd by clefable, then was permanently slower than clefable.

Horsey with two agilities is faster than clefable even if paralyzed.

SOLVED: Knowledge check issue. Was thinking para is half speed not quarter in gen 1

So it's clear that a banwave is happening, props to BHVR for that because the cheating has been quite possibly the worst I've ever seen over the past couple of months and getting worse every day.

Is anyone else suspicious of all of these reported "False bans" pouring in? I haven't taken the time to look into the accounts of people who post them, but I heard someone say a lot of them are pre-bought preloaded accounts, and even before I thought of that, I was suspicious that people using cheat accounts are immediately going to complain to the people they bought them from or to demand compensation etc, and as a result the dealers are telling them to flame the Reddit about false bans in an attempt to cause chaos in the community and BHVR offices.

Anyone who isn't intentionally being obtuse or wildly unobservant will acknowledge that cheating is rampant in this game. It would be silly to even doubt this, not just because of the evidence we see on this sub every day and in game ourselves, but with a little critical thinking about the matter. dead by daylight has blown up to be one of the most popular multiplayers right now, it's gottenn absolutely massive, and it's chock full of young gamers and older gamers alike, many who want to make compilations or content for YouTube or tiktok or twitch. For a small monthly fee, you can either create that content and make money off of it, or simply be the star of your discord group, pretend that you're amazing at the game and receive praise and libations and feel popular. Considering how much of this player base is in high school or around that age, the latter alone is believably motivation enough for where they want to put some of their spending money.

I have had and lost friends in game because I thought they were great survivor players, started playing with them, listened to them deny cheating happens and listened to them shit on people who claim cheating is rampant, only to later discover these friends were in fact cheating themselves.

Funny enough for how critical I am of BHVR, it is easier for me to believe that this community is full of players who would go so far as to try and gaslight everyone involved by falsely reporting a false ban on reddit en masse than it is for me to believe that BHVR is mass false-banning perfectly legal players.

Never in my time playing gen 1 have I experienced the absurd fuck you from RNG that I get every other match in ranbats, strategic plays aside. It would be quite obnoxious to discover numbers on RNG were fiddled with just for giggles. I do love the roulette that is gen 1or I wouldn't play it, but you can go on a several match losing streak because of the bonkers fuck you's from RNG that are just constant.

EDIT: this isn't a rhetorical question, I'm getting down voted and having people explain gen one to me, but I'm asking if the RNG in showdown is equivalent to the RNG in the original games. I could play through an entire game of Pokemon red blue or yellow and see less of the wildly inconvenient RNG that I would see in seven matches of Pokemon showdown, is the way it seems.

I'm asking for a little evidence the RNG is legitimately faithful to the games if there is any. if the RNG is intentionally adjusted for "comp" or whatever that's fine but I'd like to know

I really appreciate anyone who is willing to take the time and read through this, it's a lot but I'm trying to explain every single step I have taken to avoid a bunch of comments suggesting things I've already done.

I finished gaming, and realized my steam deck had not been charging, it had stopped some time while I was gaming, I know this because it was definitely charging when I first plugged it in and gamed for a while.

I began fiddling with the charger assuming there was a contact issue between the cable and the port, but I could not get the steam deck to charge.

For the rest of the night, I began trying the basics. Plugged that same cable into my phone, and it was charging my phone no problem. This is a 60 watt charging cable that I bought specifically because it had the power sufficient to charge my deck while I gamed, I had been using it for weeks.

So I tried charging the steam Deck with a different cable, using a different outlet, I tried fiddling with the positioning of the cable, all of the stuff to make sure that it wasn't a contact or cable issue. I could never get the charging light to turn on.

So I plugged the steam deck in and left it charging overnight hoping that might do it. It didn't work. The next day, after much research on reddit, I took the back of my steam deck off, unplugged the battery from the motherboard, and plugged the charging cable in while it was disconnected. The steam deck began repeating a short series of three blinks from the charge light, so I looked it up and the first answer I found said that this means the battery is really really dead and needs to charge. So again, this time with the battery disconnected, I let the deck charge overnight blinking three times the whole night. Next day, still would not turn on, still blinking three times. Looked it up again, and saw that the three short blinks can also mean that the steam deck is receiving charge input, but has no connected battery to charge. Obviously because I had the battery disconnected. So I plugged the battery back in, the blinking stops, but the steam deck still will not charge or turn on. Now, when I try to turn the steam deck on, it will give me three short blinks once, and nothing else. If I hold the button down for 12 seconds, it will give me one long blink, and then nothing happens.

All of this is to say that I can see the connection between the port and the cable is not the problem, because when the battery is disconnected the steam deck recognizes that the charging cable is there and actively trying to charge.

I have also tried the holding of volume down and three dots button, while pressing the power button. When I do this, nothing at all happens.

So in short

Steam deck suddenly just stopped charging

It's not a port connection issue, because when the battery is disconnected from the motherboard, the steam deck will recognize that the charging cable is plugged in and actively trying to charge it.

While the battery is connected to the motherboard, plugging the charging cable in results in no response at all from the steam deck. The charging light will not come on, leaving it in for hours results in nothing happening.

Pressing the power button now will result in three short blinks, to indicate the battery is dead, and nothing else.

Pressing and holding the power button eventually results in one long blink, and nothing else. This is actually more than I got at first, because immediately after the steam deck had died I wouldn't even get those three dots, it was only after unplugging the battery from the motherboard that this began to happen.

Pressing and holding the volume down and three dots buttons, then pressing power, results in nothing but the three short blinks to indicate the battery is dead. The same occurs when pressing and holding the volume up button and three dots.

I feel like there's something that can be done, because there's not a port issue, and there's obviously enough battery life in the steam deck for it to give me the three dot blink, so the battery isn't completely dead.

What I have deduced from all of this is that for some reason, the battery is simply will not accept charge that is coming into the steam deck.

Unfortunately I bought this steam deck from a video game store, used, not within warranty, no info about the previous owner or set up or anything like that for valve.

Replacing the battery would probably be sufficient, unfortunately that's pretty pricey in and of itself so I was hoping to maybe get some insight here on how to avoid having to do that. Maybe there's something else I can do before just straight up replacing the battery?

The only reason I can think this happened is that I spend most of my time playing dead by daylight, a game that was very demanding on my battery, and so I would play the game while I charged the steam deck. I used a high power charging cable which kept my steam deck actively charging even while being drained by this game. I've only had the steam deck for like, 3 months, so I'd be surprised if I managed to do this much of a number on the battery that way in that amount of time. But I do play a lot.
