My guy best friend and I frequently treat each other to meals and he recently started opening up emotionally. Is this normal ?
Hi! I’m a guy and I have a college best friend.
We became very comfortable with each other and would always eat lunch together. We also treated each other a lot. For example, there was one time he asked for help with his part in our project, and after I helped him, he was really thankful and treated me to lunch. Then the next time we met, I treated him back.
He also started opening up to me about his personal life, which honestly surprised me because he rarely shared anything personal before. It only happened recently when we became really close.
I’ve also told him that he’s really my best friend and I genuinely mean it. I even told him that we should be brothers for life.
I just want to ask: is this kind of friendship normal among guys, especially the constant treating each other and being emotionally open?
