ANA ELISA Positive, but ANA IFA negative?

Hi everyone!

I was encouraged to post on this subreddit, hopefully someone can help. I (31 F) finally saw my PCP in April after years of symptoms. Bloodwork returned with a positive ANA and positive for Anti-SSA among other thyroid related issues; I was told I had Sjogrens and was referred to a lackluster rheumatologist.

Finally saw this rheumatologist and he had more extensive panels done through Avise. My results came back but they said they would "go over diagnoses when I see him next month."

I decided to go pick up my results myself because I have an endocrinologist appointment next week, and my results have me confused.

My ANA IgG (ELISA) test was a strong positive, but my ANA by HE-p2 (IFA) was negative. Under the Sjogrens category, my Anti-SSA/Ro52 IgG (ELFA) were also positive. My anti-thyroglobulin was "equivocal" which is interesting, I previously had an elevated TSH and have been on Synthroid since April.

Previous labs from April indicated high morning cortisol and high ACTH; no one has discussed this with me but I do not have any symptoms of Cushing's disease.

I would be sincerely grateful for any help or direction anyone can provide.

Edit to add: Only other diagnosis is POTS (cardiologist diagnosed); 2 medical professionals have expressed thoughts I have hEDS - I brought this up to my rheumatologist who didn't think I had it because my "elbow wasn't hypermobile" - but no official diagnosis.

Also not seeking a firm diagnosis! I know there's much more to it all then bloodwork, I'm just trying to understand these labs. Sjögrens very much seemed to fit but these conflicting ANA results have confused me.

Positive ANA...but also negative?

Has anyone else experienced this before?

My ANA IgG (ELISA) test was a strong positive, but my ANA by HE-p2 (IFA) was negative... I thought both are usually positive. Under the Sjogrens category, my Anti-SSA/Ro52 IgG (ELFA) were also positive. My anti-thyroglobulin was "equivocal" which is probably due to the Synthroid I'm on.

I know no one is a doctor here, I'm still seeking medical help! I just am trying to understand if anyone else has had this.

Previous bloodwork indicated HIGH ACTH and HIGH morning coritsol as well as HIGH TSH; all else normal.

Is verticillium wilt killing my maple?

Hi everyone!

I live in middle TN (Zone 7B) and we planted two trident maple trees in our front yard at the end of March. Both trees were planted the same week, the same way, with the same soil, fertilizer, and mulch. Both trees receive equal sun and are watered the same.

However, one tree is thriving and one appears to be dying. I went to the nursery where I purchased the trees today and they think it's verticillium wilt, however I'm not sure. Does anyone have any advice on how I can save my tree?

I've added photos of the healthy tree, the one that is struggling, and close ups of the leaves and branches.

(Cross posting to hopefully save my tree ❤️)
