Freelancing is like walking on eggshells

Because you work remotely, communication becomes extra sensitive. You start overthinking messages like:

  • “Was my tone okay?”
  • “Did I reply too late?”
  • “Did I sound unprofessional?”
  • “Am I being too quiet in meetings?”
  • “Should I have worked extra hours without saying anything?”

The flexibility and freedom are great, don’t get me wrong. But people rarely talk about the constant uncertainty that comes with freelancing. Sometimes it feels less like a career and more like surviving contract to contract while trying not to make any wrong moves.

Anyone else feel this way?
