Hi people! Im a new immigrant about to move in to Cedar Rapids around Aug 2026. Could anyone of you recommend available apartments (1BR/ Studio) around your area, or near NE Council st? Or even if its 10-15 mins away, as long as its a nearby town. I’ve already looked at websites, trulia and zillow but i cannot seem to find any vacancies.

I would appreciate if they would allow pets, has an in unit washer and dryer, cooling/heating, snow & trash removal, and car parking.

Also, i do not have any credit history yet since it will be on the process as i will be staying temporarily on an AirBNB while scouting for my apartment. Will they accept a security deposit at least?

Please DM me if ever you can help with any information whatsoever. Its really hard because i dont have any friends/ family around the area. Thanks a lot!

edit: my preferred budget would be around $1-1.2k!

Im a new Registered Nurse (Immigrant) from the Philippines, about to work in the USA, here in Cedar Rapids by August- September 2026.

Are there any rental cars that will accept my drivers license from the Philippinrs (And any hotels available around the airport that i can stay in (or any type of assistance/service that i can avail?)

Does anyone of you know if there are any apartments that accept cash/ or overseas credit card from home, or if they will accept me if do not have any american issued credit card, SSN and all that yet?

Im really stressed about this cause i dont know anyone around from the area. For those who are asking about the agency part, the thing is we dont really get a hands-on type of accomodation when we arrive because i am under direct hire. The only thing theyll help me with is if either i'll avail the housing allowance of 2500$ overall worth from them, or i can find a cheaper apartment and pay it firsthand then theyll reimburse me so i get the change (extra money) for other utilities.

My work place will be around North East.
