Four Seasons Bora Bora in January

Posted this in chubby travel but curious to hear other thoughts..

We're planning our first trip to Bora Bora this January, only to realize that Four Seasons has major renovations planned during our stay. The main infinity pool, main beach, Fare Hoa Beach Bar, and Tere Nui restaurant will all be closed.

They'll be offering an alternative Villa Beach Club with two pools (including an adults-only pool), beach access, and dining service.

We're planning to stay in an overwater bungalow and honestly aren't too concerned about not having access to the main pool. Our bigger concern is construction noise and whether it will take away from the overall experience.

The resort said they'll place us as far away from the construction as possible, but understandably can't guarantee we won't hear anything. Since this is our first time in Bora Bora, we have no sense of how far the overwater bungalows are from the construction area or how much noise might carry.

Has anyone stayed at Four Seasons Bora Bora during previous renovations, or have any insight into how disruptive this might be? Would you still go?

also to add, from our previous experience at Maldives (Soneva Jani and St.R) we never really used the main pool (i cant remember if there was one at Soneva honestly) and only once used the main breach at Soneva. Most advices so far said to cancel but just trying to understand why..

looking at the map of the property, also it seems that the main beach/pool are somewhat isolated? again, just trying to understand if I am underestimating the whole thing and this would really ruin our trip. Thanks in advance appreciate the thoughts

Recommendations for 40th birthday party destination within the US

Planning a joint 40th birthday party trip for my husband and me with friends, likely around 30-40 people with~20 rooms, sometime in May or early June.

We originally wanted Cabo/Cancún because we loved the idea of a beautiful beach resort with a pool, catamaran/boating, golf, spa, etc., but several friends have international travel limitations, so we’re looking for a similar experience within the U.S.

Our priorities:

  • Luxury/upscale resort (hoping for a group rate)
  • Water + nature strongly preferred
  • Plenty to do for a mixed group: golf, boating, pool/beach, spa, hiking, etc.
  • Reasonably accessible from a major airport
  • We are based in California but many guests are coming from the East Coast, so Hawaii is probably too far?
  • Somewhere that would feel special/fun enough for a big joint 40th, not just a quiet couples resort

Any resorts you’ve stayed at or attended a group celebration at that would fit?

2026 R1S Dual Max — california take this lease or wait for year-end

I am considering a 2026 R1S Dual Max, ~$90k MSRP, 36mo/10k, $0 down.
Current quote is about $1,490/month before ~$4,000 in additional credits are applied, with roughly $7,000 total incentives/discounts once everything is included.
We don’t need the car immediately and are flexible on configuration. Based on past Thanksgiving/December deals, would you take this now or wait for year-end?

Also wondering if waiting for a Dual Max Performance/Power Upgrade could be a better value, since Rivian has historically offered larger incentives on certain higher trims.
Would love to hear thoughts from people familiar with Rivian’s lease deals/incentives.
