Stuck O2 Sensor — What Should I Try Next?

Stuck O2 Sensor — What Should I Try Next?

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to remove a seriously stuck O2 sensor from my 2012 Jeep Liberty and could use some advice before I make it worse.

I spent a couple hours on it today. I first tried a wrench, then added more leverage with a breaker bar, and also tried an O2 sensor socket, but it didn’t seem to grip the sensor very well. At this point, the hex on the sensor is starting to round off, and my access to is pretty limited (only one side)

I also heated the area three separate times with a torch and tried breaking it loose while hot, but it still wouldn’t budge.

My current plan is to soak it with penetrating oil overnight, then try again tomorrow. Since I’m replacing the sensor anyway, I’m considering cutting the wire off and using a 7/8" deep socket so I can get a better grip on the entire hex. My other thought is a 7/8" box-end wrench with a pipe/breaker bar for more leverage.

Before I go any further, does anyone have a better method for getting one of these loose once it’s this stuck and starting to round? Particularly wondering whether the deep socket or box-end + heat is my best next move, or if there’s something else I should try first.

Pics show the sensor, what I’ve tried so far, and the setup I’m considering next.

Single- vs Double-Sided TPU for Packrafts – Does It Actually Matter?

Hey everyone,

I’m curious what people’s experiences have been with single-sided vs double-sided TPU in packrafts and how much a difference it actually makes in real-world use?

I’ve noticed packraft tube fabrics range pretty widely. I've seen around 40D on ultralight boats up to 420D+ on more durable models. And then I've also noticed some companies use different reinforcements or fabric constructions, such as Kevlar, with their blends.

What I’m especially interested about is double-sided TPU. My assumption is that it adds weight and packed bulk, but potentially improves durability, rigidity, water resistance, or longevity.

For those who have used both: have you noticed a meaningful durability difference? Does double-sided TPU make the boat noticeably stiffer or perform differently? Does it hold up better to abrasion, pinholes, or long-term wear?

I'm also wondering in general how important coating construction is compared with the fabric denier itself?

Would especially love to hear from anyone who has put both styles through a lot of whitewater or backcountry use.

Whitewater Carabiner Recommendations?

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for whitewater carabiners? I've been using the Black Diamond Hot Forge series and Petzl Attaches, but have found they don't hold up well with water.

I saw NRS has the Sliq and Nuq series... wondering if anyone's had any experience with these or recommends any other whitewater carabiners in particular?

Missing Transmission Bolts?

Howdy everyone!

I was under my 2012 KK yesterday and notice these two slots on the transmission seem to have no bolts in them. I wasn't sure if this is intentional or if I'm missing bolts there.

Anyone have any take on this?
