You can see the word attorneys is redacted in the second screenshot, but not in the first - and that has my wheels spinning. Why redact the word attorneys?

There is an unverified book proposal going around with the name of an editor NOT from Penguin on it, and that may or not be authentic. But a quote near the end of it caught my eye

I board a plane, rent a car and pull up at a strange house. The reader will believe that I'm going to finally go confront Mr. Miller, and tell him that I know what he did to me. Now to be fair, Amy might be talking about how she intends to end the book, and that’s why this door situation is different than the coffee shop meeting in the finished version of The Tell. But something in Amy’s recent declaration also caught my eye — In the third picture above.

If the final bids for the proposal for the book were due March 28, and this is the proposal I’m looking at… why did Amy only text Claudia on April 1, three days after bids were due? (From the timestamps on the texts)

She basically staked the whole ending on the participation of a woman that she hadn’t interacted with yet. What if Claudia didn’t want to be involved?

Which makes me wonder if what Claudia means by “attorneys reached to me a bit ago” means something more recent, like attorneys reaching out to verify she would be willing to meet and be included?

And then the second part makes more sense - Claudia offered other potential witnesses, friends from middle school, and the attorneys didn’t need that - because by then, they were no longer investigating the assault. They were securing her involvement for the ending. But does she know that?

Does Claudia know that her involvement in the memoir’s ending might have been a foregone conclusion?
