Modafinil and Armodafinil experience

So I’ve tried mostly modafinil but armo too (once) in the last week, in hopes it could increase task salience and duration, just being able to work longer and find boring work more engaging (perhaps the noobie over expectations but whatever).

I tried 100mg moda first day and it took a while to feel it and it’s honestly not that noticeable for someone who doesn’t get tired much until later in the day (evening-night) where you realise you just have not felt tired at all. But in terms of productivity, you can just as easily focus on something dumb or useless UNLESS you have clear tasks to do and execute. It personally doesn’t make me more decisive in that regard but if I have a task I do find I get lost in it easier (flow state), and a couple hours go by very quickly without realising.

But in my experience it doesn’t seem to enhance decision making in a noticeable way, or necessarily make you more productive. You need that yourself and if you direct it and use it properly it can definitely help but it’s subtle. I heard this a lot before but I still had high expectations. It’s definitely useful for staying awake (its original design), and reduce crashes in the day. I took modaf at 200mg like 3/4 times.

Armodafinil was mildly different in the sense that it does seem to last longer and have more of an initial rush. I felt some mild anxiety for some reason in the first 45-90 min. Very background but it felt physically stronger too (150mg). But same kind of deal as modafinil.

I did mix them with coffee after a couple hours in the day and one day pre workout, just mildly increased the focus/awakeness and gives the edgy drive of caffeine (good way).

I also took them at 8-9am and slept fine at 11-12pm.
So they’re definitely useful when you got a poor nights sleep or want an extra boost but definitely nothing insane if you aren’t particularly sleep deprived or have narcolepsy etc. I’m just documenting my own expectations and reality. Perhaps my rambling is testament to the modafinil…

Side effects; when mixed with caffiene you can slightly feel the stress on BP. Also I did tend to have more bowel movement even without caffiene when taken on an empty stomach. But I drank a lot of water so didn’t get headaches. I did notice appetite suppression, actually stronger than expected. I didn’t eat until 4pm when I took Armodafinil which is uncommon.

Wtf is in hydrazine?

Hydrazine was the first ever underground “pre workout” I ever used and I always used it as more of a nootropic. I don’t rly use it that much anymore because it just doesn’t do that much and idk if it’s illicit or not… I literally just feel clammy for a few hours when I take it with little mental stimulation or physical stimulation. Anyone else get similar or different experiences or have any ideas? To me it feels like caffeine and alpha yohimbine or like a low dose of dmha. Of course it’s under the same umbrella as thermal spark so it could easily be illicit but I’m just wondering what other people’s thoughts are who have tried it.

Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) risk from armodafinil/modafinil?

Before you berate me, I have done prior research and know the risk is incredibly low and extremely rare (in fact comparable to risk of SJS from ibuprofen). But general question is, does this deter anyone or even factor in the decision making of taking armo/modaf?

I know other side effects are far more likely; headaches, nausea, insomnia etc. But anyone who has taken or takes these drugs, do you experience any side effects which deterred you from further use, or side effects which cause negative experiences (more interested in the rarer, less reported ones, but feel free to report your experience if you have it). I ask because I have some on the way for productivity purposes, so the risk to reward evaluation is less strong.

Do I need to be cautious with methylene blue?

I have had methylene blue sitting in my cupboard for a while now but am hesitant to use it because of its potential negative interactions with other substances (I take exotic pre workout stimulants occasionally) and irregular cannabis use. So,

  1. is methylene blue actually beneficial as a nootropic in your experience?

  2. is the danger of methylene blue overplayed on social media (regarding serotonin syndrome)

On a separate note, how does it interact with other nootropics like noopept (I don’t find much benefit from this anyway) and bromantane (oral), and is there any need to combine them anyway?

My use case is for focused office-type work. And I usually always use coffee as a baseline nootropic/stimulant.

Let me be clear this is not talking shit on stims or fear mongering. I’m curious and thought it’d be fun to hear some very unfunny (at the time) stories of overdoing or just bad stim junkie experiences.

First sticky label recommendation? Long lasting focus + energy

Got into high stim PWO a few months ago I’ve tried mr white, maniaco, EOI (up to full servings). Preference lies with the DMHA type pres, but tolerate yohimbine fine. Not sure which “off label” pre to try first; ideally one with minimal side effects or crash (I know that’s pretty subjective, but generally), since I like to workout hard followed by a few hours of focused work. So I’m looking for one with prolonged energy and focus - best out of these options?

Firestorm
Force of nature
Venom (“temu”)

Of course open to other suggestions - or even none if you think I’m unqualified. Also do you compromise DMHA PWO frequency (2x a week), when introducing a “bathtub” pre 1x a week?
