I included Romance in my top 5 rock albums of the 2020s

Hi! I just uploaded a new episode of Record Room about my top 5 rock albums of the 2020s, and I included Romance by Fontaines D.C.
I talk about why the album feels like such an exciting step for the band, how everything feels bigger, darker, more cinematic, and more atmospheric, while still keeping the tension and edge that made them so interesting in the first place.
Sharing it here in case anyone wants to check it out.

Is Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged the greatest MTV Unplugged ever?

I just watched this podcast episode about Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged in New York and really enjoyed it, so I wanted to share it here.

It talks about why the performance still feels like one of the greatest live performances ever captured, especially because it wasn’t a normal acoustic greatest hits show. The setlist, the covers, The Meat Puppets section, and that final “Where Did You Sleep Last Night” performance all make it feel impossible to recreate.

Hi everyone,

I host a music podcast called Record Room and for this episode I invited a contemporary classical composer and conductor to listen to In Rainbows by Radiohead for the first time.

It ended up being such an interesting conversation because he reacted to the album from a completely different perspective. We talked about the rhythms, textures, arrangements, lyrics and the little details that make the record feel so alive.

As someone who already loves In Rainbows, hearing it through a composer’s ears made me appreciate it even more.

I thought people here might enjoy it since the episode is basically a full album reaction and discussion from a music composition perspective.
