Engine and Transmission Seepage 2016 Smart Fortwo

Hello,

I am trying to buy a 2016 Smart Fortwo car and got the inspection done and I got the below report. Is this normal for smart cars? Is seepage common?

Thanks

Engine oil is dirty and requires changing. Underside inspection reveals engine oil seepage and transmission fluid seepage from the pan area. No active drips were present at time of inspection. Both areas require cleaning and rechecking to verify exact sources of seepage. Accessible fluid reservoirs appear full and free of contamination.

2016 Smart ForTwo with 98k miles. Is it worth it?

Hello All,

I am hoping you could help me make a decision. I just test drove 2016 car with 98k miles on it. The car drives well, dont see any issues. Car fax report is good. Has had 3+ owners, all personal use.

I am getting the car inspected tomorrow. I would be driving 300 miles per month. The dealer is selling the car for 8k. I have a couple of questions -

  1. The car has 98k miles on it. It seems to be maintained well. How much life does the engine have on average. Are they good for 150k miles?

  2. Are these cars cheap to maintain?

  3. I will be the 4th owner. Is 8k an ok price?

Sorry I dont know much about these cars at all hence asking. Thank you

Engine lag in Smart Fortwo

Hello All,

I just test drove 2013 Smart ForTwo car for the first time ever. I noticed that every time the car tried to change gears automatically there was a big engine lag and it was as if car lost complete momentum for a second or two and then with a jolt pick up speed again. Big engine lag. Is this normal?

The person at the dealership said this is normal for these cars as they are three cylinders but I don’t think that makes sense hence asking.

Thank you

B-1/B-2 visa renewal

Hello All,
My parents visa is up for renewal. It’s expiring soon. Does anybody know whether Dropbox is still an option?
Also what’s the visa rejection rate for renewals?
Thanks

I have a used Audi Q3 and am planning to replace it with a Q5. Is it possible to negotiate with dealerships to lower price or more features? Just like Honda or Toyota or any other?
