I'm friends with the local comic store owner and also a regular customer. Free comic book day (comic industry event to promote comics) was today. I showed up and waited in line with my kids before the store opened so we could get a good choice of the comics. In addition to the official free comics he puts out posters and low end toys on the free table as well. I'm a toy collector and saw some 90s mario kart toys on the free table and grabbed them and then checked with him that ya they were supposed to be there. He is pretty knowledgeable about vintage toys so I thought he must have checked the value and that my gut instinct was wrong on the value. It was so crowded in the store I just figured I would talk to him about it later. So when I got home and checked on ebay that they were $50 ish each I messaged him that we should talk. I don't want to screw him/the store. My thoughts are that the fair solution is to offer a percentage of the normal price. I love these toys but would not typically be dropping $200 on them. What do you think is a fair percentage to propose in this situation?
