I just realized the list of topical affs on the china topic is like crazy big. some examples:

• climate affs
  • -dark skies zones
  • -panda zoos (diplomacy/biodiversity)
  • -natural disaster preparedness (fem floods aff from the 2016 china topic)
• global health security
  • -contraceptives
  • -deep sea REM mining (to decrease medical equipment prices)
• space affs
  • -trump and xi go to space and experience the overview effect and/or die
  • -ban on asteroid mining

Why isn't AI a topic area in the Western Balkans topic? it's the foremost issue of Balkanpolitik. I've heard Croatia and Serbia are both on the brink of GPT-2 level intelligence. Surely balkASI is coming soon, right?

Jayveerpositionality is like when there's a judge kick after the round if there's a case turn but if there was a. uhh. um. it solves condo offense because don't ask too many questions ok. better than condo because "jayveerpositional" is fun to say.

I'm not affiliated in any way with Haku, I'm just a user who likes what they do. Haku.cards is another wiki scraper search engine, like Logos, but this one is more updated because it also gets cards from LD and PF. I like it more than Logos and more people should be using it IMO

Yes I know the topic areas being voted on have been picked (Latin America, South Asia, North Africa, foreign aid, China, West Africa, South America, Southeast Asia, Western Balkans, nuclear arms control, presidential war powers, Japan/korea/Kuwait/Bahrain). Most of these are lowk kinda ass IMO, however I like the China topic and especially the space topic tho. I'm wondering what else you guys would want to debate over in future years. For example, I think disaster response would be a cool topic, also i think a renewable energy topic would be cool.

Does anyone know any debate resources (round recordings, round docs, blogs, videos, slideshows, papers, whatever) that were active for the 2011-12 topic (space exploration)? I want to see what arguments would have been big at the time.

Could any debate uncs let me know what args were big on the space topic in the national circuit? how did the meta change throughout the year? was it mostly like foreign policy stuff or pie-in-the-sky arguments like dyson spheres and kardashev brains and vaccum decay? Space colonization will most likely be the next LD topic, so I just want to look into this. I tried the 3nr, but all of the links to the demo debates expired.

I've been having an issue in some of my rounds where the judge will get tired or bored from my aff and go get food or take a quick nap, how can I avoid this? should I invest in a projector to play a video of jingling keys or subway surfers?
