So for a bit of context, this takes place over the past couple of days, and honestly, I don’t know what to do.
My girlfriend, let’s call her K, recently had a surgery that made it impossible for her to drink alcohol for a couple of weeks and walk properly (this is important for later).
My friend N had a birthday party a week after the surgery.
K was originally meant to go to the party, but I didn’t think it was a good idea given her recovery, and she doesn’t like any of the people who were going.
However, K’s reasoning for wanting to go was that my ex was also in attendance. Me and my ex hate each other with a burning passion, and she didn’t trust me to behave myself. I assured her nothing would happen and that everything would be fine, but this led to a major fight.
During the fight, K said something that I interpreted as a breakup.
So the next night I went to the party and had a good time, thinking nothing had gone wrong at the party.
The morning after the party, I started messaging K, trying to fix things throughout the day.
At some point, I made a joke to N that I had completely forgotten everything from the night.
N then started listing off things I had done, and I didn’t recognise one of them. At first I thought he was joking.
But he told me I had tried to kiss another girl. For reference, I have met this girl before but never really spoke to her, as she was rude, and she’s not really my type either.
I then started to spiral and didn’t know what to do. I asked K for time to think and suggested we talk later, but she wasn’t happy with that, so I confessed under pressure, and I fear I may have ruined everything. And I can’t help but feel this is all my fault.
UPDATE: I would like to note a mistake in the original post, I thought everything had went well at the party not between me and K.
K has also admitted that it was a break up however she didn’t take what she said seriously.
And why does everyone think I’m lying about not remembering. I have zero memory of this one incident at the party.
My other friends at the party don’t believe it actually happened.
So I don’t know if N was just trying to shit stir cause he doesn’t like K.
