Today’s random acquisition

One of my staff brought me several boxes of his dad’s records to go through. This is one I grabbed. Never heard it.

56 Topps failed childhood collection.

I posted the other day about my attempt in the late 80s to complete a set of 56 Topps. The collecting fizzled and this is what I have left. Actually had the Mantle but sold it in the early 2000’s to help put a down payment on a car. There’s an Ernie Banks floating around my attic somewhere, but not much name value in these other than a few. Enos and Monte Irvin are in there. Hey hadn’t been out of plastic sheets in almost 40 years. Forgot how nice the colors are. Here’s my failed attempt.

56 Topps common lot value?

I've got around (90) different 1956 Topps commons and I'm looking for input on selling them. Not sure how to value (to sell) a lot of ungraded commons. Mix of grey and white backs. I think mostly grey.

Here's the backstory.

I was huge into cards back in the junk wax era. I got the idea that I would try to complete a 1956 Topps set. I got the above mentioned commons in the late 80's at card shows. I had the plastic sheets numbered for the whole set and slowly began inserting cards as I picked them up. Well, the card collecting didn't last past 1989 and being a teenager got in the way. I don't have any real interest in collecting now and my son isn't really interested in my older stuff.

So, I've been hauling around cards for 35+ years that don't have an enormous value so I figured I'd try an move it as a lot. If it's enough, I'll use it to pick up a Griffey Upper Deck rookie for my son. He'd get more enjoyment out of it than the 56's!
