I get that DessKnight is the most likely theory, but what could this possibly mean other than RudyKnight.

I get that DessKnight is the most likely theory, but what could this possibly mean other than RudyKnight.

Rudy seems to be an outgoing guy. So why is he so cold to Susie here, when he would’ve been fairly friendly toward her the previous day (Other than him being the knight)? Like, just look at the way he mean mugs you and gives you the cold shoulder when you try to talk about Susie. He does NOT like her.

I’ve yet to see a satisfying explanation for this. The main ones I hear getting repeated is that ”He doesn’t want Susie’s first impression of him to be his sorry state after church,” and that “He doesn’t want to speak with you after church.” Both arguments I would concede to… if they made any sense to me.

Meeting him for the first time in Ch2, he’s a sick man in a hospital bed. In Ch4, he’s a tired sick man in a hospital bed. Not much difference for Rudy to get hung up over. And even if that’s true, it still doesn’t make sense for Mr. Extrovert to give Susie the mean mug + cold shoulder combo like that.

As for the second possibility. He’s perfectly fine with talking about, to, and being friendly with Susie if they talked in chapter two. And even if they didn’t, Rudy is still willing to talk about tomorrow and the festival, ONLY giving you the cold shoulder when trying to talk about Susie (If you want to check for yourself, just boot up Ch4 without a Ch3 save file and skip dialogue till you get to Rudy in the hospital). He doesn’t want to talk or about Susie specifically.

This scene is what made me a RudyKnighter. Why did Toby Fox take the time out of his day to write this scene if Rudy wasn’t the Knight. Why write such a blatant, in your face suspicious scene. Why?

Wounds are easily the worst aspect of Wilds

I never really liked wounds. They kept the worst part about the clutch claw (tenderizing) instead of the best (CC attacks), and decided that of all things was worth on other chance. Focus strikes are easily the worst part about Wilds’ combat, completely wasting a button that could’ve been a much more interesting part of your moveset. Focus strikes also completely cripple anything under tempered eight star. The devs also love screwing over WEX to further push you into interacting with these mechanics. I’d actually quite like wounds if the were exclusive to the weapons of bleed monsters like Odogaron or Seregios. But no. They HAVE to do the shitty hitzone gimmick AGAIN.

I frequently wonder how much better Wilds would be without this mechanic. Imagine how much more fine tuning of perfect guards and offset attacks we could’ve gotten instead, the animation time that could’ve been spent on making more powerclashes. Imagine how much less difficultly complaints there would be.

And the worst part is, they already did the whole “monster gets weaker/visualized progress through the fight” better in world with partbreaks. The main two examples being Anjanath and Fatalis. Anjanath gives a permanent reward for targeting less appetizing hitzones and makes the fight more forgiving towards the shorter ranged weapons, while Fatalis rewards you for targeting the head by making his later phase flames less absurdly damaging. They could’ve expanded on this, but no. Wounds were just SO important and NEEDED to exist. This especially sucks Wilds didn’t treat partbreaks kindly in general. Not only are partbreaks less important for equipment crafting, They REMOVED partbreaks. The only monsters I fought while focusing on specific parts were Lagi and Xoh Shia, with their claws and wingarms respectively. Also you can’t carve gems from Lagi or Seregios tails, because fuck partbreaks. The Raths no longer have head and back breaks, because fuck partbreaks. Lagi doesn’t have the awesome chest break anymore. Why? Because fuck partbreaks that’s why.
