Remington 700 Hogue stock negatively affecting accuracy?

Remington 700 Hogue stock negatively affecting accuracy?

Just hogged out the forend of the Hogue overmolded stock on the M-twenty-poor. Looks like shit but a piece of paper passes freely under the barrel without touching the stock. It was like all rubber all the way down. I can't believe how little hard plastic seems to be in this thing.

Turns out this whole time the end of the stock was touching the barrel. Saw a couple YouTube videos about this problem and fell down a forum rabbithole. It rubbed so much so that there was a rub mark on the underside of the barrel! I can't believe I never noticed that the whole time I've owned it! Agghhh I'm going to be so mad if it was something this stupid that was causing all my grouping issues.

Last week I had some slightly better luck with a 180 grain bullet, (I had been shooting 150gr x-tac) and they were all touching, but in a line, not a circle. Fingers crossed this gets the job done until I can afford a nice, aluminum bedded fiberglass stock. I've gotten used to the trigger now so I don't think I need to replace that.

Wish me luck! The training goal is 5 rounds in a single ragged hole at 100 yards.

1972 Yamaha LT2

Hi all, I'm pulling my old bike out of the shed because it's spring, the weather is beautiful and gas is expensive, lol. I'm about to tune it up and clean the carb, and I'm wondering if I could get some advice.

As long as I've had it its always been a little hard to start. The previous owner (or one of them, the history is unknown) removed the oil injection pump and started using pre-mix. When I got it, I didn't know any better, and I ran 50:1 in it, which caused it to overheat and burn up the rings. After that, I replaced the piston and rings, and had the cylinder honed, and on the advice of a mechanic, I started using something closer to a 20:1 mix. Since I've barely rode it in 5-6 years, compression should still be pretty great.

Besides cleaning the carb, maybe replacing the spark plug and checking the points gap, what else could I do to make this bike start up on one or two kicks? I'd like it to be reliable if I'm going to ride it to work and stuff.

It's a 6 volt bike if that helps.
