r/2Strokes
What causes this sputtering?
The sound becomes very rough, almost as if the engine only fires on every second revolution and it loses most power. It sounds similar to a rich bog but what bugs me is that it seems more speed related than rpm or throttle related, the engine runs perfectly fine below 50 kmh, it only starts to do this at random speeds above that and also in all throttle positions.
Hesitate bog
This is a mate I’m helping with his bike, sounds like it’s bogging due to too much fuel. I’ve took off the carb and I’m going to check the jets and everything. But I would assume it’s not that, I took off the powervalve cover and made sure it was all okay everything looked fine. I also checked the reeds and they looked okay. The bike is a Husqvarna TE250 2015
1980 GT80 Carb help
where can I find the rubber o ring and shim for where the carb mounts to the intake spigot? mine are old and cracked and the bike barely runs due to an air leak from them. none of the carb rebuild kits have them and I can’t find any online. thanks
How do I adjust this timing? (XC-W 200)
2006 KTM XC-W 200 with a 2k3 flywheel and stator. The stator has no marks on it. I’ve found 1.6mm BTDC with a dial indicator as specified in the manual (center sharpie mark), but the timing light shows the make jump around. I think the CDI may adjust the timing based on RPM, but I’m not sure if these bikes do that.
How do I adjust timing correctly?
Main jet problem
Does anybody know what type of main jet this is? Can’t find it anywhere on the web. Its for a 50cc Keeway scooter (Keeway X-Blade 50cc 2018). Engine type: 1E40QMB-4. Carburetor brand is Leader.
First bike! The cr slowly coming together
Always been a quad guy other than couple small bikes Got motor put back together and got to rip a little now just gotta fine tune and get the fresh rubbers on 🤘🏼
Help needed please!
Recently I wanted to get into tinkering with motorbikes (I have little experience but everyone has to start somewhere I guess🤷♂️🫣). I wanted to upgrade from a 50 so I put a Motoforce cast iron 70cc kit on my Derbi Senda xtreme sm 2014 all gaskets on done everything up everything seemed to be in check.. then as I started the bike it had coolant leaking from the exhaust manifold and also coming out from the bottom of the head where the base gasket is.
It seemed to be built up in the little port too(image attached) I’ve drained it all out and changed the oil also as it was contaminated with coolant it seemed but flushed that through. It could possibly also leaked into the crank case?
My question is what happened to be causing the issue and how can I avoid it happening in future?
Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated guys, like I said I’m not very mechanically minded so I’m learning as I go along..
thank you!
Ehhh what do I do. Would oil come out from screw hole crack.

Carb problem
I put new rubbers in my carb so it was completely of the bike, after reassembling it this is the result, what is wrong? I feel like its the gas cable
does this piston already need change?
this piston has 50 hours on it, but not from racing just medium-paced riding. it’s from a 2022 KTM 125 sx, and i need honest opinions whether to change it or not.
thanks in advance for any help
First rebuild clutch problem
Goes into gear I can feel the bike jump and wheel turns while suspended in the air but when on ground and I put it in first seems to still be in neutral, Would this happen if I installed clutch plates wrong? cable is pulling fine at the end of the video
Husqvarna WR 360, my baddest two stroke
This is my newest and craziest finished project: Husqvarna WR 360 from '99. Never thought I could get my hands on a low hour big bore two stroke, but here we are 🙂
She was sitting in a barn the last couple of years. I put three months of work into her to bring her to this condition.
Living Room Decor 🤣
My garage is full and this has been in the basement for quite a while. The basement is getting finished, so until I make some room I guess it’ll be living room decor 😆 I need to get it out and put some miles on it this year!
Does it sound lean or rich? Yamaha 40 BR 2cyl 2 stroke
I swear every 50cc it's some flavour of Minarelli
(mods if memes are not allowed I'm sorry) Minarelli is everywhere in the low CC 2 stroke world especially with the freaking minarelli AM6 that i powers freaking everything Beta, Fantic Husqvarna, Aprilia EVERYTHING. It also makes some cool higher CC engines like the double injected 300cc fantic one
Yamaha DT125E 1978 2-stroke Starting Trouble
Bit of a project bike. I had it starting when I first bought it, before I stripped it down and repainted the chassis, cleaned the engine, replaced the carb and the spark plug. I'm running premium 98 unleaded premixed with synthetic 2 stroke oil at 32:1, as the auto-lube system is currently under maintenance (project for a later date). It's a kick start bike with points ignition and should be able to start without battery, which is what I currently have it wired up as.
When I kick it over it runs for about 3-5 seconds before the engine just dies, and if I check the spark after this it's usually tan and very slightly wet. After kicking it over a couple more times it'll run for another 2 seconds before dying again. After a couple more attempts the plug comes out wet and black, which all wipes off. The carburetor float height is set to standard for this bike, the jetting needles seem to be the right size (identical to the old carb that was on it), I've cleaned it multiple times, all the jets are free. Fuel flows freely from the petcock valve through a filter into the carb and stops when the bowl is full. Airscrew is set about 1 1/2 turns out. I can start it cold without the choke on, and when I do turn the choke on it seems to accelerate my wet spark plug symptom. The hole in the carb for the oil which should be pumped by the autolube system is capped off. Compression is good. Exhaust is clear. Airfilter is oiled. Spark plug sparks blue outside engine every kick.
I am quite baffled by this and cannot seem to find a solution, any suggestions or questions would be much appreciated!
80cc big bore kit gy6 139qmb
I was thinking about converting my Chinese scooter to 80cc with a big bore kit. I already have a brand-new Tecnigas Next R exhaust and a full sport CVT, although I'm not sure what brand the CVT is.
I've picked up a few parts that I think will make for a reliable and fast 80cc build. Can anyone give me some feedback on my setup and let me know what I should expect in terms of performance and reliability?

Yamaha 40hp 2 stroke HELP
Good morning. I need help please. 2000 Yamaha 40hp 2 stroke 3 cylinder. My son took his boat out yesterday and the plastic linkage end broke so the zip tied it to get back. I was able to make a more permanent fix but then noticed the aluminum shift bracket going to the lower unit was snapped . I can't find a video on YouTube about it. Can I take the 3 bolts off the gear bracket and the cotter pin and Jimmy it out and get it welded or does it got to go to the shop
