generous neighbor gave me this bike while I was ironically walking my other bike home after it died on me. he said he thought it had a cracked head and was leaking compression. my gauge says the opposite. is it even safe to run a 2 stroke with compression that high without it dieseling?
So my bike started to act very rich and then when shut off it did not want to start. I have spark and compression. (The seals were also broken) So what is wrong in my carb. (The Fuel tube gets Fuel to The carb)
Kx85 bogging when snapping throttle and also when riding and give it full throttle it never feels like it’s giving all of its power. Ive been screwing at the air screw and idle screw and just can’t figure it out is it somthing else or what do I need to do. Thanks

What i have here is a piaggio typhoon 50cc 2 stroke, it has a 19mm dell’orto phvb carbarateur
With the original piaggio filterbox, together with a malossi red sponge filter inside, the scooter does not do a thing, unless i spray brake cleaner into the filter’s intake
When i remove the filter completely, so the carb’s intake is open air, the scooter does work when i hover my hand over it a bit and cover it a little every once in a while, i can feel my hand getting wet from the fuel while doing that. It does not want to stay running and completely bogs down once i remove my hand

Now when i put a little cloth over the open air intake of the carb, and attach it with elastic bands:

It suddenly runs completely fine, no issues. Maybe a tiny bit unstable as you’re usually not meant to use a cloth as an air filter, but it doesnt stall or just bog down for no reason at all, video here:

Does anyone know why the f my scooter is acting so damn weird? I already tried installing a bigger jet, originally it’s 72, went up to 84, did not change anything to the open or filtered setups, just made the cloth setup run a bit rich
I did also remove the restrictor plate before the membrane, but that did not change a thing, only became more powerful when using the cloth
I am genuinely confused by this and just want to get to driving this thing
By the way, i am new to 2 stroke scooters, first one i have ever owned, did have 4 4 strokes in my past, all of which i have bougt broken doen, and fixed myself, so i do have some experiences with engines, just not specifically 2 strokes
Hi riders, i got a 2016 yz125 with an athena 144cc big bore kit and a after market exhaust setup.
My dirt bike doesn't keep is idle, even if i play with the idle screw (I've tried all the way in, all the way out and every turn in between) I've also play with the air/fuel screw from 1/2 out to 5 turn out and everything in between... it only idle if the choke is on.
Is it possible that i need to change the stock jetting on my dirt bike?? And if yes, what should i buy?
BTW I've also checked for air leaks in the intake boots, and i didn't find any.
Husqvarna TE 150i smoke so badly even though it only has 7.5 hours on it? It sat in the garage for about 3 years. I ride it on the streets once a year for around 10 minutes and then put it back in the garage. I do also change oil every year.
91 octane CA pump gas mixed 40:1 with Yamalube 2R
My jetting is:
1kick and it’s starts, but when I give gas it goes out… I had to retime the ignition can it be that the timing is off? Of does it sound like anything else?

Hi, this is my bike. Over the past few weeks I've noticed that whenever it's in gear with the clutch lever pressed (mostly when slowing down or downshifting) it constantly dies.
Runs fine and the clutch seems to work just fine when taking off. Also, when the engine is not working and I put it in gear and try to roll it off (with the clutch pressed ofc) it acts as if I'm not pressing it....
Hope the clutch is not doomed because I don't have money for a new clutch kit...
And to mention: I haven't done the gearbox oil change since I got it (2 months since I got it). I was gonna change it tomorrow hoping it would fix it..
