Spent fortune upgrading PC + Monitor for cs2 but laptop feels smoother. What am I missing?
I've been chasing smooth CS2 gameplay for months and have spent way too much money trying to fix something I still haven't figured out.
My setup:
- Ryzen 7 X3D + RTX 5070 Ti
- BenQ ZOWIE XL2566X+ 400Hz DyAc2 (October 2025, basically new)
- 400fps stable in CS2
- 1000Hz mouse polling (Deltaco DM360, PixArt - 3327 sensor)
- 800 DPI, 0.82 sens
- Fullscreen, Raw input on, Enhance Pointer Precision off.
- DyAc2 Premium, AMA High
The problem: Motion blur on my BenQ 400Hz DyAc2 is significantly worse than my laptop's 240Hz IPS screen. I attached two photos taken with the same mouse spin on the same mouse — the difference is crazzzyyy. On laptop I can track and one tap enemies easily, that’s how I reached lvl 10 faceit. On the BenQ everything smears and enemies are hard to track during movement.
I've tried:
Multiple monitors (OLED 360Hz, AOC 420Hz Fast IPS, ASUS IPS 300Hz, now BenQ TN DyAc2)
Two different desktop PCs (old i7-12700K RTX 3080, new Ryzen 7 X3D RTX 5070 Ti)
All software settings correct as far as I know
Fullscreen vs borderless
Different overdrive/AMA settings
DyAc2 on and off
The only consistent thing that feels smooth is my laptop (OMEN MAX, 240Hz IPS panel).
Current suspicion: My mouse uses a PixArt 3327 sensor with only ~150 IPS max tracking speed. Could this be causing input inconsistency that my eyes perceive as motion blur? Would upgrading to a high tier mouse with 500ips fix it?
