Where can I visit without paying the non-US citizen tax?

I am visiting Bar Harbor on a cruise soon for one day. I had booked an excursion through the company to visit the park, only to discover that there will be a $100 additional charge, which is not covered in my booking. Sufficed to say, the fee would more than double the cost of my excursion and while I would have loved to visit the park, the money I will save can be put to better use elsewhere.

I intend to spend at least a few hours in Bar Harbor itself, but I was wondering if there are any places people would recommend visiting in the area where I would avoid the $100 fee? I was looking at Bar Island, only to discover that it is part of the park too.

Booking cruise with flights?

I'm currently looking at going on an NCL cruise in the autumn time. First time cruising, but not first time flying. Normally I would just buy the flights separately, but in the current world climate the possibility of flights being delayed or outright cancelled is a very real one.

As such, my question is if i book the cruise and flight with NCL, will there be any support or guarantees if something goes belly up? Whether that be in the form of getting a connecting flight booked to reach the ship at the next stop, or getting my money back for both the flight and cruise if there is no way to reach the ship (I would be flying long haul).

I had a look around the internet first, but all the information I could find is years out of date and I don't trust a salesperson to tell me the truth.
