Magnesium glycinate gummies
Just wanted to put this out there for other parents. I gave my son just ONE gummy (50\text{ mg}) of a kids' magnesium supplement before bed, and he woke up a couple of hours later in a total panic. It looked exactly like a night terror eyes open but completely unfocused, breathing heavily, and I couldn't comfort him at all. Apparently, even though 50 mg is a safe dose, magnesium can deepen sleep so quickly that it messes with their transitions between sleep cycles, or the glycine can act like a stimulant for some kids. We are definitely stopping these immediately. Has anyone else experienced this?
