EWS certificate doubt during qualifier enrollment

I haven’t applied for my EWS certificate yet due to some reasons, but I’m about to enroll for the qualifier exam and I had a few doubts:

  1. Can I still select myself as an EWS candidate during enrollment even if I don’t currently have the certificate or haven’t applied for it yet?
  2. If I register without EWS now, will I be able to update/apply for EWS later after the qualifier exam once the certificate is made?
  3. Is family income proof alone enough for fee waiver benefits, or is the EWS certificate mandatory?

would appreciate help from anyone who has faced a similar situation

I’ve been doing these things for a long time and I’m a bit stuck on how to actually monetize this properly.

Skill wise, I’ve worked on:

- Python automation (scraping, scripts, data processing)

- Building small tools/CLI utilities

- Discord & Telegram bots

- Some backend work (APIs, basic systems)

- Linux/VPS setup, deployment, and fixing issues (nginx, services, etc)

So I can build stuff and solve problems, but I’m struggling with the money side of things

I’m not trying to build a startup or anything crazy right now, just looking to make some consistent side income (even a few thousand rupees per month would be a win)

I’ve been considering:

- freelancing (custom scripts / automation)

- reaching out to small businesses (Instagram/Facebook pages, etc.)

- selling small tools/scripts

or even taking small repetitive jobs and automating them

But I honestly don’t know what actually works vs what just sounds good in theory

If you were in my position, what would you focus on first to start getting real paying clients?

Would really appreciate practical advice from people who’ve actually done this.

I’m looking for an entry-level role (full-time / part-time / freelance) where I can work on backend systems, server management, or technical support.

I have hands-on experience with:

  • Linux / VPS management
  • Nginx configuration and debugging (502 errors, reverse proxy issues)
  • Backend deployments (FastAPI, APIs)
  • Fixing server issues (permissions, services not running, config problems)
  • Basic automation using Python and Bash

I’ve built and managed server infrastructure from scratch and handled real-world issues, so I’m comfortable debugging and fixing problems quickly.

I’m open to:

  • Technical support roles
  • Backend / DevOps internships
  • Server/VPS management work
  • Freelance tasks or short-term projects

If anyone is hiring or needs help with technical issues, feel free to DM me.
