Possible Antique Brass Bowl found in Southeast Connecticut, USA

I got this from my grandparents house when cleaning out after their passing. Unfortunately, I know very little of its provenance or even its intended use. Image searches have produced suggestions like "Mamluk Revival style bowl" and "possible Arabic calligraphy (Thuluth), but that's about all of the information I've been able to collect thus far. ANY help would be very appreciated!

Antique Brass Bowl w/ Arabic Calligraphy

Can anyone tell what this is or what these say? An image search suggested that it could be Thuluth script. Any insights would be welcome, thank you.
