I literally cannot have a single thing to myself because they always have to sabotage or control EVERYTHING. It’s so annoying
Literally anything that makes me happy (whether it be hobbies, buying a certain food or clothing item i like, whatever) they always try sabotage/destroy it, try to compete with me, or mock me for it.
- I try to go out. It can be a simple little walk for example
What does my NParent do? They will: accuse me of something (even though they know i’ve never been a “troublemaker” type of person), criticize my outfit, mock me, pretend to be concerned by lecturing me about how “unsafe” everyone/everything outside the house is, call me a million times to micromanage every little thing I do while i’m out, try to control what times I leave or return, or all of the above
- I go shopping and buy a certain food i like
My NParent suddenly has to go shopping too (the fridge can literally be full and they’ll STILL do this)
They’ll buy the same items I bought a day or two later; then complain about me using too much freezer space or imply that i’m stealing their food or they’ll weirdly try to compete with me and say something along the lines of “Wow Inevitable_Eye3417, I bought that too! Don’t get it our foods mixed up hehe, I don’t know why you bought the same stuff as me!”
- I develop some new hobbies or interests (like for example, I started spending more time in our backyard because I got into gardening this year)
I recently got into gardening. Our backyard was pretty neglected so I cleaned it up and assembled this big plant container, bought some wildflowers seeds, some pots, a watering can, some soil, and some fertilizer, and I planted my plants.
They grew very well and they were very healthy. I thought my plants of all things would be safe, but of course not! My fucking narcissistic parent went outside, snapped my biggest plant in half, and ripped the leaves and heads off of the rest of them ffs!!!
I wanted to hope an animal did it, but i know an animal didn’t do it because 1. There were some beautiful morning glories growing in our yard a few years ago (and they did the same thing to those), 2. There were no paw prints or holes in the soil, and the soil was perfectly intact. The plants were clearly ripped in a way that only a person could do, and 3. I got into an argument with them the night before this happened (my plants were PERFECTLY FINE before then mind you).
I feel like I could list off a million examples. They do NOT want to see me enjoy anything. I’ve been grey rocking them, but I can’t wait to move out because they are such energy vampires. It is impossible to be happy or express joy around them.
