OOTD – double corduroy

Wore a double corduroy outfit today, both while walking Sigge and while going to the village to pick up a package.

Tweed cap in Donegal tweed by Hanna Hats

Vest in 4 wale by me. Thrifted the cloth

Shorts – no-name thrifted cords that I turned into a pair of shorts.

Boots – a pair of thrifted boots from Italian brand Sutor Mantellassi

Bag by me (the first jacket-bag I made)

printed details stick to eachother and crack - how to preserve?

i got this piece from a thrift store aaaages ago and randomly found it in my closet folded, when i tried to unfold it the designs suck to eachother (only a little) and i’ve noticed some cracking… how can i store it so it won’t end up sticking or cracking more? i don’t have enough space in my room to leave it full flat so i do have to fold it…

1930s German Suit

I've had this suit a while now and the details really are special. The colour is a lilac and grey glencheck with blue window pane. Sounds like it wouldn't go but it really does. I just need to watch my weight as I agree so I can still fit into it!

I found this robe at the thrift store the other day. I was told you'd like it here. I feel like a mob wife.

Ain’t she a beaut!

I just thrifted this. It had some very old yellow paint lining the inside, so I got all of that off because it was very sticky. But like pristine condition. Should I try selling her? Cannot find exact match online. Mirror and other parts in perfect condition. So pretty.

Vintage silk scarves from an estate sale!

I paid a dollar each! The people running the sale said that the woman used to work on a cruise ship. If anyone has any tips for styling them for a business casual office let me know!

Just in time for prom

Two lovely handmade formal dresses just in time for a prom. They were a donation to the local Playhouse, but the director didn’t want them, so they were free to me. The one on the left reminds me of the 70s. The one on the right I’m not so sure, but here in the south, maybe all that puffy tulle was the norm? Either way they are both handmade by someone whose sewing skills were way above mine.

Advice for removing stains

Hello! So I picked up this little vintage clutch and want to wear it to an upcoming wedding but I don’t love all the staining from the metal at the opening of the purse. I was wondering if anyone had any tools or tips for cleaning it and hopefully freshen it up a bit?

60’s Swing Coat

Half off at a local thrift! It’s been kept in wonderful condition. I tried searching for information about the label, but I wasn’t able to find anything. If anyone has any knowledge on it, I’d love to hear it. Can’t wait to pair it with a lovely dress!

Kate Moss’s vogue collection found in my new apartment

I recently moved to a new apartment and have been renovating it. Today I decided to take a look in the loft, to my surprise I found hundreds of vogue issues with many being of Kate Moss. After emptying it further I’ve found lots of cards addressed to Kate moss as well as personal things such as notebooks, documents and other belongings.

I have no idea what to do with them. I’d feel awful disposing of them but I don’t have the room to hold them. Open to suggestions.

UPDATE: I assumed because of the abundance of magazines particularly of THE Kate Moss and other fashion sketches and cards addressed to Kate moss or signed by Kate Moss it was the supermodel. Information I further looked into revealed it was another lady born of a different first name but shared the same surname as the supermodel Kate Moss. This lady subsequently changed her name to Kate, attended fashion university and clearly grew fondness to the supermodel Kate Moss.

Should I add a zipper?

EDIT: you are right! I will not add a zipper, it would ruin the fabric. I was trying to convince myself that the easiest path (zipper) was the right path. I’ll look in to a hook/snap/loop solution 🥰

I bought this beautiful 1930’s dress at a market, it was very wrinkly and a bit dirty and I didn’t have a chance to try it on. I gave it a bath with silk soap and it came out beautifully! Since i could try it on, I didn’t notice that it lacked a zipper/buttons. I think based on the opening (3rd pic) that it used to have a zipper? However, the fabric is very thin, possibly silk crepe, and I’m not sure if adding a zipper would ruin the fabric? Would a sewing machine be too harsh?
I am planning on wearing the dress if I manage to do something about that hole 🤍
