Goodwill bins find 🧑‍❤️‍💋‍🧑

Yesterday, I found this beautiful Gunne Sax by Jessica McClintock dress at the bins! Someone on another sub suggested I post it here. I haven’t seen this style of dress from Gunne Sax including the mesh inlay over the chest with a high neck lace collar. I’d love some more info on this dress!

It also has some yellow staining on the inside/some on the lace. What’s the best way to clean that? I’d love to find an occasion to wear her after fixing her up! 🩷 Thank you

Thrifting craft supplies

Hi everyone!! just moved here a couple months ago and i’m wondering if there’s any thrift stores in the area with a good selection of craft supplies (ie fabric scraps, buttons, ribbon, etc). There isn’t really any selection at goodwill/salvation army. I’m willing to go to Salinas or even Santa Cruz as well! thanks in advance!

Under Sink filtration/Drinking and shower water

Hi!! I apologize if this is a dumb question but I can’t seem to figure out a straightforward answer. I just moved to an apartment and the water from the kitchen sink (and shower) smells like straight up bleach and chlorine. I don’t use it as drinking water, but would like to find some sort of filtration system to minimize the smell and contaminants coming out of the water.

I’ve researched some under-sink filter systems, and from what I understand it only works with cold water. Considering I only really use the kitchen sink to wash dishes, how can I find a way to filter the water when it’s warm/hot? Again, I rent my apartment so I can’t really install a complete system.

Additionally, we filter our drinking water through a standard Brita jug but the water still smells/tastes kind of funny. We do switch the filter every 2 months.

Recommendations for a shower filter system if you’ve been in this situation is also welcome please!

Any suggestions for the kitchen sink filtration, drinking water filtration jug/system or shower filter system is appreciated!

Songs like Wild Horses and Nutshell

I know these two songs technically aren’t that similar but they just both feel like the kind of nostalgic song that would play when you die alone in a field in a small town in the midwest during late fall/winter specifically do not say Black byPearl Jam i can’t imagine that scenario with that song.

EDIT: i am NOT suicidal and planning to actually die to these songs ive never even been to the midwest i live in california im just saying the vibe ykwim

Gym??

Hi, I just moved here and will be starting a graduate program at CSUMB next week. Is the on campus gym (not otter sports center) open during the summer? I’m a frequent gym goer and want to utilize the access that I have with being a student :) On that note, how is the gym there? Equipment, crowd level, etc.? I couldn’t find much info online. thanks in advance!

Used furniture stores?

Hi, we just moved up here and need a few more furniture pieces (couch, sideboard, etc.) I’ve exhausted all options on facebook marketplace and craigslist so far, but would love any recommendations of thrift or antique stores that have any vintage/unique/funky pieces for reasonable prices! I know there’s a couple habitat for humanity restores, are those worth it for furniture? thank you in advance!
