I’ve never loved my hair, advice?

How should I change my hair

Don’t get me wrong, I know I have very beautiful and fortunate hair. It’s very long, thick, yet fine and a pretty shade of blonde. However, it is very straight and heavy… and I never learned how to style, braid or curl my hair growing up. Now I’m 22yo and am extremely bored of my hair and feel like I could make it look so much better. My friends have styled it before and it’s been shorter, I’ll include it.

What do you guys think I should do to my hair to make me look better?

EDIT: I think I am going to try and get some layering done... without docking too much of my length and face framing curtain bangs and then try the overnight curls. It sounds like a simple and do-able plan for someone who doesn't even really know how to braid. I'll consider getting highlights/etc in the future once I work a bit longer outside of college. I also love my hair slide 4, curly, but I want to try a simpler hair style before committing to that.
