wizards who are against necromancy are spiritually no different from peasants with pitchforks

first keep in mind I am not a necromancer so I could get some things wrong, its always because evil wizards go into necromancy, they see skulls and stuff and think it is for them, if I were an evil wizard tho I would probably pick another better school for the job like enchantment

"muh, but it exploits the dead"
What about the living? your avg lord with peasants working his land is infinitely more evil than a necromancer with undead servants, keep in mind they are most likely not conscious, there are many types of resurrection

original soul resurrection
captive soul resurrection
willing soul resurrection
and virtual resurrection : in which there is no soul involved because you just give the bodies life force and as such they can't feel. And no, not all life force is sourced unethically, in fact if all peasants would donate 15-25% of their life force to a necromancer he could raise an army of undead with it to do the farming and they could earn their freedom from the lord with minor side effects.

but noooo, we need to hate necromancy because its icky.

also have you ever wanted all the knowledge of the previous generations at your disposal? guess what, that's possible and the source is incidentally ALL THE PREVIOUS GENERATIONS, speaking to the dead is really underrated and we could benefit greatly from it if we were more open to necromancy.

also speaking about willing soul resurrection did you know necromancers can help ghosts gain a body so they can finish their business?

btw phylacteries also run on life force not necessarily souls but that's how most evil liches obtain it, I also think everyone should own a phylactery.
"muh, but the evil liches"
That's actually a very small percentage of wizards who have phylacteries, most of them choose to die peacefully by astral projection after a few hundred years or thousands if they are elven.

all the hate towards necromancy is fueled by a few really bad examples and a lot of emotional reactions that I would expect from a cleric or a paladin but not a wizard, someone who dedicated their life to intellectual pursuit and who would presumably put facts over feelings.
