I asked a younger gay guy (26y) to hangout. He had to ask his parents first. Is this normal?

So I’m a gay man (31) living on my own, and I wanted to hangout with this new friend (26) I met online. I asked if he wanted to come over, but said he would need to ask his parents permission first. He still lives parents but owns his own car. I feel like an adult shouldn’t have to ask permission, but maybe it’s just been a while since I lived with my parents. Is this normal?

Using an OLED iPhone for the first time. I have a question.

So I upgraded from my IPhone XR with an LCD screen to an iPhone 17e with an OLED, and they’re some strange quirks. While I’m scrolling through YouTube/ instagram, the videos get super bright, meanwhile text/interface and photos are super dim? Is this normal? On my LCD, the screen was a uniform brightness across the full display. I can fix the issue by adjusting the brightness to full, but I just want to have my display uniform regardless of its brightness
