Do our minds make things seem worse than they really are?

By this I mean, for example today, I had to go to a place far away taking public transport and checking on schedules in my phone.

I was very anxious about it at first, but when I was getting to it, executing plans and getting things done, it actually felt like "Oh wow, I am actually doing this and it doesn't seem so bad".

Am I the only one having this issue?
My mind seems to make things way worse than they really are in real life, and I hate it, anticipation anxiety is a bitch.

After a few months of consistent training, I am finally able to inhale and exhale through my nose when running at all times, thus allowing me to maintain proper tongue posture (mewing) at all times.

It feels so empowering because I can just have a relaxed face, (as if I was a running machine 😈) and have proper tongue posture at the same time, running and mewing at the same time is finally doable.

I always had a proper tongue posture throughout all my life though and usually nose breath, but running and nose breathing only was ALWAYS a challenge back then until I started forcing myself to do so.

TL;DR : I mew and nose breath when running, after months of adaptation.

I am tired of running around my house /moving fast, I wish they added a keybind like, holding left control key or something, so we can just walk around the house instead.
