[WIP] DT-30-inspired articulated crawler terrain for Legions Imperialis — feedback welcome!

Sharing early clay renders of a terrain piece I'm working on: a sci-fi take on the DT-30 Vityaz, built as an articulated tracked tractor with a small cargo compartment in the rear, towing a separate trailer with a massive container.

Scale figure is included in every shot for reference. The whole combo is big enough that 4 infantry bases can comfortably shelter behind it.

Still WIP — the articulation joint between the tractor and trailer isn't finished yet, and some areas are still light on detail. Any thoughts welcome!

Hi all,

I’ve just released my first terrain set: UIMB Pattern Underground Storage Facility, designed for 8mm scale tabletop wargaming.

This is a fully printable STL set (no physical product), optimized for FDM printers with a standard 0.4 mm nozzle and no supports needed.

The set includes:

  • Cargo lift platform
  • Cargo and liquid containers
  • Lighting mast
  • Ventilation unit
  • Small scatter (crates and barrels)

The goal was to create a modular industrial/logistics terrain piece that works both as standalone scenery and as part of a larger system I’m currently expanding (next up: vehicles, such as a straddle carrier).

You can download and print everything yourself here:
[MMF link]

I’ve also added a free container sample on my profile if you want to test the scale and printability first.

Happy to answer any questions about printing or the design!

Printed and assembled my first 8mm industrial terrain set — really happy with how it turned out.

Designed everything to be FDM-friendly (0.4mm nozzle), and it came out clean without any issues.

This is the start of a larger logistics/infrastructure system I’m working on, with more pieces like vehicles and expansions planned next.

Curious what you think — especially how it reads at this scale.

While my first terrain set is going through MMF approval, I’ve started working on the next piece — a straddle carrier to expand the logistics system.

Trying to decide on the direction:
pure industrial vehicle, or something more militarized?

Does the top-mounted gun make sense here, or is it out of place?
