Advice

Still very new to mobility aids and am trying to figure everything out.

I currently use forearm crutches for a yet to be determined thing. I am diagnosed with chronic knee pain, but the crutches help with my pain as it is now everywhere and I’m struggling with fatigue. That’s not why I’m here though.

I am moving to Florida for a few months and plan on going to theme parks frequently. However, it’s too expensive to continuously rent scooters and I’m on a tight budget. So I was wondering if it would be stupid to look at used scooters, probably from eBay just to get me through the few months I’m in Florida.

I’m desperate, but broke. I’m willing to try and tough it out, but I know it’ll eventually be too much.

I know motorized mobility aids are expensive which is why I’m trying to go second hand/open box. For context, I’m trying to stay under $350 if possible. Any suggestions are welcome and please be more than happy to (nicely) put sanity into my brain if needed.

Sorry if this is rude, not trying to be just need a small rant.

Is it bad that I want to be disabled/have something wrong with me?

No one ever believes me because I’m too young or too fat (I’m not).

I am getting bloodwork as my doctor semi believes me, but it’s just been so long, lonely, and tiresome.

Last minute thought: I already have chronic pain of one knee, but that was caused by a surgery. I also use mobility aids most of the time. But no one believes me about my other pain or fatigue.

I have an appointment tom where I’ll finally come clean about my struggles with chronic pain and fatigue. I want to bring up a possible wheelchair in the future as my forearm crutches are working but not the best. I’m just scared because I’m only just beginning to use the crutches but the only time I’m not in pain and can save my energy is when I use an ecv or a wheelchair. This is more of a rant but I’m new to all of this so fear is huge.
