Commercials with a decent message but horrible concepts (The Real Cost - Taxidermy)

Commercials with a decent message but horrible concepts (The Real Cost - Taxidermy)

The anti-vaping commercial with the talking taxidermied animals is so effing horrible it makes me want to START vaping.

What other commercials have what could be a good message if the idea for the commercial itself wasn't annoying, stupid, or otherwise unbearable?

Afraid I scared a baby phleb

I'm an MA who used to do phlebotomy, and we have LabCorp send a phlebotomist on our busiest days of the week. But the rest of the days the MAs usually do it, so we kind of need to know how to do it but not super frequently.

I was with a newer MA this week and was asked to train her on blood draws. Great - I love teaching people! After going over a bunch of things (including what happens when you blow a vein and how to recognize it) I decided to let her draw from me.

This was her first time drawing from a person, so she was super nervous but she did great. But when she cleaned the vein and positioned her needle I could tell she was just to the left of it, and that she was either going to miss it or blow it. A few seconds in I saw she had blown the vein and calmly told her to stop, pop the tourniquet, withdraw the needle, and apply gauze.

I told her that she had blown the vein just because I wanted he to be able to recognize what happens. Part of me wishes I had just let her finish the draw and never told her (even though it HURTS today) because I'm really afraid I've scared her from drawing blood anymore. I told her that she did great and we practiced the steps of blood draw a few more times, but she kept apologizing and I kept trying to reassure her that she did great and told her she does not need to apologize at all.

How can I try to get her familiar with blood draws again?? I'm usually the only MA in the office otherwise I would just let her draw on me again. What can I say to encourage her to not be afraid of draws? I feel terrible!!

I hope both sides of your pillow are perpetually warm and/or perpetually wet

Why. Just why. I'm as immature as anyone else but can't we have one nice innocent character to enjoy in the tunnel without someone painting a big fat dick onto it 😭

I don't even paint the Snoopies but I would love for whoever does it to keep doing it and not have to keep seeing their art get dickified

This morning I was so excited to see one without a penis on it already, took a photo and sent it to my little sister. My dumb ass did not look close enough and sent my little innocent sister a photo of a Snoopy mural with a fat penis painted onto him. I have ruined her day. Mostly my fault but still.

In Moss Point, Mississippi in 1982, a truck driver called police and reported a woman's body wearing a blue plaid shirt in the Escatawpa River. Instead, police found two other bodies: Alisha Heinrich, 18 months old, and Gary Simpson (considered unrelated to Heinrich's case). But police never found the woman described by the truck driver and the description of the clothes does not match what Gary or Alisha were wearing.

Alisha's mother Gwendolyn Clemons is still missing. Before her body was discovered, a woman carrying a child was "causing a disturbance" on the bridge, but I can't find any description of the woman or what she was wearing, or any further details about the woman the truck driver saw in the river, or what Gwendolyn may have been wearing when she disappeared (the most recent sighting of her was 2 days before Alisha's body was discovered, and this is only a possible sighting).

It makes me wonder if there really was a woman's body in the river, and whether that woman was Gwendolyn. Has anyone else been able to find any further details on this woman? Do you think this was likely Gwendolyn, and if so, what happened to her in the span between the trucker called police and the police arriving on the scene?
