Not Impressed W/ C-Series

Pre-soaked in acetone. Baked to get oil out. Sandblasted with aluminum oxide. Spray looked great. Air cured for 9+ days and it holds no better than spray paint.

I sell customs ones and wanted to give C series a go but this simply cannot do. I know C series is rated for its high temperatures and not its scratch resistance, but I’m barely applying pressure and it’s coming off.

I’ve only seen 2 people do torture tests with C-Series. It was mostly putting solvent on it and seeing if it came off. But one guy was hitting it with a hammer and it wasn’t coming off.

Am I doing something wrong or is your guys experience the same?

I’m staring at $200 in H-Series I’ve ordered and arrived yesterday but I want to temper my expectations.

I simply can’t charge someone for this and they scratch a knife the first time they open it

Sand Blasting Chrome Plated Tools?

Hey guys. So I’ve dumped like 40 hours online with AI and anything else to try and find this answer but I can’t find anything solid.

I want to cerakote sockets and wrenches and the like, but the chrome plating has me worried. AI says to absolutely not do it because of airborne hexavalent chromium that will be created from sandblasting the surface of sockets or wrenches.

A poster a long time ago showed he cerakoted his wrenches but didn’t mention the dangers of sandblasting. He also deleted his account so I couldn’t message him. But what do you guys think of the dangers of sandblasting chrome plated wrenches and sockets to prepare for cerakote? Do I not need to remove the chrome at all and just dimple the surface?
