Received Original Cabin as gift - keep or return?

My amazing wife got me this as a surprise birthday gift - a beautiful silver aluminum original cabin carry-on. It is super expensive though and I feel bad she spent so much on it - over $1,600 incl tax. I‘m on a plane 3-5 times a year, including a couple long-haul flights, and always in economy. What should I do?

- Return it and ask her to get me something nice but not as pricey

- Keep it and offer to pay for half of it myself

- Just keep it enjoy it and appreciate the gift

- Other?

Dependent ighama renewal

When applying for renewal of ighama of a dependent prior to its expiry say by a month, and assuming it gets approved, is the start date of the new ighama whenever it's approved or is it the end date of the prior ighama? So, assume current ighama expires 15 September, and you apply and the renewal is approved on August 10. Is the new ighama validity date from 10 August or from 15 September?

Just wondering whether applying a month ahead of time (to be safe in case of complications) would also mean one month "lost" or foregone.

Visitor visa for parent - home country dilemma

78-year old widowed mother and homemaker wants to visit son and his wife in Canada. She is an Iranian citizen but lives in a Gulf country (which rarely if ever grant citizenships or permanent residencies). What's her best shot at making a case for strong ties to "home country"? Which should she position as her "home country" - Iran, of which she is a citizen, the Gulf country where she is a residing (albeit not "permanently"), or both?
