Headphones Zone : The cake affair......are the a cake company now?? 🥴

I saw a post where a guy had issues with his Tangzu IEM, after a few to n fro, Headphones Zone sent him a "cake" as an apology. So kind and generous!!

Wow....an apology and a cake for some \~₹2,000 IEM???

My order value was 15x times more, never got a slice of cake, least a cake and apology for 2 weeks of trouble. In fact the guy who called me to understand the issue was rude.

I know a friend whose order value was 30x times....no cake or apology. His trouble went for around 3 weeks.

What kind of nonsense marketing tactics is this now? Having been flooded with issues and negative reviews on reddit, Headphones Zone sent and is sending cakes to low order value people to overwhelm them and extract a positive experience review?

Please use all this brain on getting better at product issues and after sales, not gimmicks.

r/HeadphoneZoneOfficial, want to send cakes instead of proper working products and having a decent after sales team.....become a cake company instead of audio one! 🎂

Please, people share in the comments your stories and the experience of dealing with Headphones Zone after sales. Let's see how many cakes are flying in the air......

Headphones Zone....What's wrong, my theory

Holla friends,

Before reading this, I'd appreciate it if you first went through these two posts for some context. Grab a cup of coffee, go through it with patience—the plot thickens my friends ☕

https://www.reddit.com/r/iemlndia/s/sZk735NrAZ

https://www.reddit.com/r/iemlndia/s/VR44jFabrl

One post is mine, the other is from another user. We both recently had issues with products purchased from Headphone Zone. Mine eventually got resolved. My friend's concerns still remain in parts, and I genuinely hope they're looked into, yes i hope—we paid a significant amount of money.

While going through Reddit over the past few weeks, I noticed something interesting related to the headphones zone. Many people describe the same sequence of events after the purchase :

Receive a faulty product …….Send it back for inspection…….Get told : "Issue couldn't be replicated."

That was exactly our experience too along with many who commented on our posts.

In my case it was an amplifier with a faulty headphone jack. In my friend's case, it was an R4 with a visibly flickering screen—he even uploaded a video of it in his post.

Yet somehow, once the products reached Headphones Zone, the problems apparently disappeared……”Issue couldn't be replicated”. Faulty headphones jack plays flawlessly and the flickering screen, flickers just vanish 🫥

Maybe their office has a magical setting. Maybe their “audiophile” technicians possess supernatural healing abilities. Or maybe it's just our bad Vastu…...Griha hi kharab hai apni 🤦

Perhaps we're simply "not audiophile enough" to use expensive audio gear despite years of listening experience. Naah, we are noobs. Who knows, perhaps i was inserting a 4.4mm into 6.35mm 🥴

Here's my theory.....Coffee ready?

This is purely my opinion, and I'd genuinely like to hear other perspectives.

As I understand Headphones Zone's policy, if a product is confirmed to have a manufacturing defect, it becomes eligible for a full refund.

However, if the conclusion is that the product is working just as it's supposed to……."Issue couldn't be replicated", the conversation changes, The responsibility shifts back to the customer.

After multiple delayed email exchanges (there's no direct customer support phone number anymore), the customer is often offered s.tore credit instead. So generous….. Thankyou Shaktiman 🙏

See what happened?

The entire discussion quietly shifts from Full Refund vs. S.tore Credit.

If my theory is wrong, I'd genuinely be happy to be corrected.

But from where I'm standing, this process has one obvious consequence : Our money remains locked within their ecosystem.

Even if we're unhappy with the product we received, we're encouraged to buy it again, a different unit or something else, but buy we must—from the same store, Headphones zone. I wanted a refund but i ended up paying even more for an even more expensive amp.

Now again, this is my theory, would love to be corrected on this and listen to what others have to say.

I also feel that Headphone Zone has become exceptionally good at selling an idea…… idea of being an “audiophile” as if it means anything, sometimes even more than focusing on the basics of customer service.

Their catalogue leans mostly towards Chinese products. There's absolutely nothing wrong with starting with a ₹1,000 Chinese IEM. Every hobby begins somewhere. I built my own setup gradually too. But many of these products are known for inconsistent quality control. That makes strong after-sales support even more important.

Whether someone spends ₹2,000 or ₹20,000, both customers deserve the same level of support.

One thing that particularly surprised me and even made us both laugh……My friend received what appeared to be an unboxed product. When questioned, the response was essentially :

"We shipped what the manufacturer sent us."

Now this raises another question……If that's the case, does Headphone Zone not verify what they receive before shipping it to customers?

Headphones zone, a request, please still send audio gears na, I can imagine someone opening the parcel and there is a live chicken in the box, shit…..!!

HPZ : ”We shipped what the manufacturer sent us.” 🐔

The funny part?

The very same product is listed on their website in both sealed and unboxed variants with different pricing. So clearly, they do recognise the difference and manage them separately. That's why the explanation felt so dismissive and ignorant. Are they pretending fools or taking us for fools?

The amount of time Headphones Zone spends on marketing, if they spent even a fraction on actually selling genuine products, checking thoroughly what they ship (please no chicken 🐔), having a dedicated after sales service, it would have been different. They should even more than others because they sell online. We are blindly trusting them, least they should do is respect that trust.

When I faced my issue, I even messaged u/Mahima_HeadphoneZone privately with all the details on the suggestion of a fellow redditer.

She commented publicly on my Reddit thread, but never replied to the private message. That left me feeling that public perception mattered more than actually resolving the concern. Maybe that's unfair. Maybe she was simply too busy to even say….”Don't worry we'll look into it as soon”. I wrote this now and it took me hell of a time.

There's a professional audio shop in Delhi that I occasionally buy from. No flashy website, no online sale. Their showroom isn't even in a premium market but an industrial area. When I asked how they compete, how do people even find them, the owner simply said : "We grew through word of mouth. We only need serious customers. It's the trust built over years".

That single word stayed with me. Trust.

This isn't a recommendation for that shop. Most Headphone Zone customers probably won't even find what they're looking for there.

I can't imagine a company not listing their phone number for a direct contact on their website. Headphones zone says they used to but don't anymore, only 🤖 emails…..I have another theory for that too but let's keep it to one theory a post 🤐

Why? They have an army of people making posts on Instagram, Facebook and everywhere, can't they have a dedicated team addressing our concerns in a better way?

Maybe we don't matter once we pay and get in their system.

It takes  time getting big but the journey back to zero is smooth and short in business.

Again, this entire post is simply my opinion based on my experience and the experiences of many others who have commented on Reddit.

I'd genuinely like to hear if people think my theory is flawed. If I'm missing something, I'd be happy to know. Because if this pattern is just a coincidence, I'd much rather believe that than assume otherwise…..take this post with some drops of coffee ☕

Humko maloom hai jannat ki hakikat lekin, dil ke khush rakhne ko Ghalib ye khyaal achcha hai….

What's wrong with headphone zone....what should I do?

I bought a Topping DX3 Pro amp worth ₹22,000, now this is a big amount.

It had issues and within an hour of trying and testing I requested a return, just after 1 hour of delivery.

Now late pick up from their side, late delivery to their warehouse. After 12 days of purchase they sent me an email now that they can't replicate the issue at their warehouse.

It's clever because it's their closing hour and then we have the weekend.

I made the biggest mistake of ordering online from them because I couldn't find a retailer for it.

So now another limbo because there is no way to prove. I am in Delhi, they sell from Chennai and product went for inspection to Mumbai. I can't possibly fly there to replicate the issue.

But I don't understand them. They sell expensive products. I paid ₹22,000 and many pay even more. This is the kind of service they give?

They honestly think people will trust paying this much money like this. For this level of expensive gears, they don't even take calls, just blind e-mail. Send it then wait for a day or two for robotic replies.

I am do much disappointed and also anxious. First my whole experience is ruined. Second I am worried and restless that did I just waste my ₹22,000

Sennheiser HD560S demo request in Delhi.....beer would be on me!!

I am planning to buy an open back headphones. I have heard the Beyerdynamic DT 990, DT 990 pro and DT 990 pro X with an audio interface and an amp. I liked them a lot.

But I want to demo a Sennheiser, specially HD560S because it's sound as I understand is quite different. Some people say it's flat or analytical but these words can mean a lot different. For me analytical can also be fun because the sound is perfectly accurate.

So please, if someone can let me listen to Sennheiser HD560S for sometime at their place or somewhere......I would be very thankful.

Also....beer 🍻 (if you indulge) or a coffee ☕ would be completely on me for this massive help. Thanks
