Any song recs for my Mariah playlist?

I’m not super familiar with her catalog after E=MC^2, and I don’t have a lot of time to explore it. I love her fluffy love songs, her more R&B stuff, as well as her ballads. Please lmk what to add!

I Dont Wanna Cry appreciation post

She said in interviews that this song has no meaning for her and she doesn’t feel connected to it. She also hated the producer who she collaborated with on it.

I validate that but at the same time, I think she’s too hard on it.

It’s a gorgeous track. The melody, verses, and chorus are all so dramatic and gorgeous. The fact that she wasn’t enthusiastic when recording it and STILL sounded so passionate and authentic shows how talented she is.

The final chorus is arguably one of her best vocal moments. She was a beast on this song.

The music video is also one of my favorites by her despite her hating that too. The sepia shots add to the midwestern country girl vibe that we’re going for. It was cute. It’s also one of the only videos she did during that era where she had a super sexy love interest.

Also, does anyone get Selena Quintanilla vibes from it? It sounds like something she would’ve recorded for the Dreaming of You album

How many of you primarily play Genesis through the Mini consoles?

I love the Genesis but I’ve actually never played on actual 1990s Genesis hardware. I’ve only played the Mini consoles. It still feels authentic to me because it’s official SEGA hardware. The game libraries are great. Some very rare games as well as SEGA CD games. I have some very legit-looking third party, 6-button controllers. It works for me.

How many of you are the same way?

Was Alone in Love ahead of its time?

I’m not sure if it’s my own personal bias, but I feel like this song was very sleek and fresh for 1990. It has absolutely stood the test of time, especially considering it came out in the new Jack swing era where every song sounded tinny and dated.

Do you consider it dated or timeless?

Hey guys, I’m looking for a memoir written by a non-famous person, preferably someone who survived a crime, a turbulent life, a disaster. But I’m also open to reading any general memoir that you found interesting! Just looking for something to add to my kindle. Please let me know! Thanks in advance
