Can’t afford Graduation

My uni is charging us £75 to graduate. Money which I do not have as I am in extreme financial difficulty at the minute. There’s zero extra hours in my part time job and the remainder of my student finance was spent travelling to and from my final placement. Has anyone else been in the same boat and know if the uni will let me waiver it ? I can’t ask family or friends for money and I’m completely stuck as I want to be able to graduate after working so hard for the past 5 years 😢😢 any advice ?

Money advice for new doctors

Hi there! I’m about to start work as an F1 this August and was wondering if any of you more established doctors have some dos and don’ts surrounding money?

For a bit of context - I don’t come from the most well off family and have never been much good with budgeting/managing my money. I have had a part time job from when I was in school and throughout medical school however this ultimately only leaves me with a couple hundred quid to live off per month- hence why I feel like I’m no good with money.

I’ll be starting work as a doctor with no savings, actually I’ll be in debt as I’ve to pay off my student overdraft (nevermind my loans etc) and am extremely anxious that our first pay slip won’t be until the end of August and am wondering how I’ll stretch July and August with no money whatsoever, nevermind buying scrubs etc for starting work.

I’d love advice as well on opening an isa? Or if any of you have any advice on how to sensibly save from the word go?

Many thanks
