POST- Simplify Disc Replacement - How are you doing now?

Greetings! Just wanting some insights on people with disc replacements specifically with simplify discs.

  1. What area do you have the discs? (If you could specify which specific level)
  2. Was there any fusion done at the same time with your DR in the same area.
  3. When did you have the surgery done?
  4. Any complications with it? What were the complications?
  5. If yes for 4, did you get any revisions with it and what was done?
  6. How’s the area of surgery? Any pain or stiffness or other symptoms that existed pre/op?

Thanks for answering my questions! Much love!

Douglas Original Hybrid Yay or Nay?

Bought douglas original hybrid and its been day 3 of using it and I wake up with mid-lower back pain from it. At the same time I had also bought my mom a hybrid silk and snow and my body seems to have no issues with that one.

Just curious maybe I just need to break it in more? before making a final decision about it?

How long did you guys take gapapentin or pregabalin post disc replacement?

Still having some neck pain post 2 months 4 level CSpine surgery. The neck pain is constant but much more intense when im doing something that involves reaching forward i.e. vacuuming or when i wake up in the morning.

I have been taking pregabalin 75 mg PO QHS at night and it seems to help. I also take tylenol with methocarbamol ( a muscle relaxant) as needed.

Share your thoughts! 😘

  1. What medication did you take, dose and frequency. How long did you take it
  2. What surgery did you have
  3. What symptoms were you experiencing that gave it relief to?
  4. Any side effects you experienced. Tolerating or not tolerating?
  5. How are you doing now symptoms wise?

Thank you! :)

I use a purple harmony pillow low loft and sleep mostly supine. I can sleep side lying but mostly supine is my preferred for proper body alignment.

Has anyone with cervical cord compression and cord edema experienced similar symptoms?

Hi everyone,

My MRI report shows a C4-C5 right paracentral disc-osteophyte protrusion (5 mm) compressing the spinal cord with focal intramedullary edema, suggesting myelopathic changes. It also shows mild disc bulges at C3-C4 and C5-C6. The MRI report says the lumbar and thoracic spine are essentially normal.

However, after reviewing the MRI images, my neurosurgeon told me that I also have disc bulges at L4-L5 and L5-S1, along with wear and tear changes in both the cervical and lumbar spine.

My symptoms are...

Mild walking imbalance.

Leg stiffness while walking.

Muddy like feeling in both feet.

Tingling and burning sensation mainly on the left side of my body.

Tingling, burning and pain in my left leg, inner thigh, groin, buttock, muddy feeling at both foot and hip. These symptoms increase after sitting for around 20 minutes.

Tingling and burning in the groin and private area.

Electric shock like sensation in both arms and fingers when I turn left or right while sleeping.

Burning pain while passing urine.

Earlier I had to push to pass urine, but this has improved after taking medicines prescribed by my neurosurgeon.

Still having burning pain while passing urine.

Sharp pin like pain in the private area.(mainly urinary tract)

Increased sensitivity, tingling and burning in the groin area.

After starting the prescribed medicines, my walking imbalance has improved, and passing urine has become easier. However, the burning pain while passing urine and the pin-like pain in the private area are still present.

My neurosurgeon has asked me to come for a follow up next week.

Can cervical myelopathy cause these symptoms or do they sound more like lumbar spine issues, pelvic nerve problems or a urological condition?

4 Level Disc Replacement C3-C7

Had 4 level disc replacement surgery c3-c7 just cause of chronic neck and shoulder pain not responding to conservative measures for 3 years.

With my discs they were all degenerated and I had some spurring. B

Biggest change post op is that I could now side lie whereas before I couldn’t.

Still have persistent upper trap pain on my left and my left shoulder is dumped forward and downward. (I know its too early) I have included photos. Gonna go through physio next week. Just curious if anyone had or has any similar experience and would care to share their recovery with it or any tips that increase success.
