MacBook Air 2017 (A1466) screws won't open

Ok so guys, I was opening my MacBook Air from 2017 (a1466 model) which has pentalobe screws. I also ordered a screwdriver kit for opening the screws, but out of the 10 screws, only 8 open up and the middle 2 refuse to rotate along the screwdriver.

The reason I'm opening the back of the laptop is to fix the trackpads tactile click, as my laptop was not letting me get that tactile trackpad feedback on clicking and I was unable to drag and drop stuff, I had been using the 3 fingers thing, also I wanted to tighten the hinge so today I wanted to fix those issue.

I've tried all possible screwdriver alternatives, also tried the rubberband method, but the middle 2 screws just refuse to go along with the screwdriver.

Please help me on what the solution could be for this issue.

P.S. Please don't ask me to go to a professional they charge loads for this kinda stuff 💀

Any suggestions for my situation?

Ok so I've been using a MacBook Air 2017 (a1466) with Intel core i5, 128gb storage and 8gb RAM since 2017. That mac is an amazing machine even in 2026. (For me atleast lol)

However as I am currently 18 and my parents don't have the funds currently to buy me a Mac, I've been considering alternatives such as:

  1. Sell this laptop which could get me atleast 10 - 15k and buy a 2012 MacBook Pro as it was the last truly upgrade MacBook (Increased ram to 16gb and ssd to 1TB) which would cost about 15 - 20k.

  2. Sell this Mac for 15k, work at a job for 4 months (18k a month x 4 = 72k) which would accumulate 90k for me if I don't spend a single buck, then buy a MacBook Air m4 if possible, or else the Neo. (This option might interfere with my studies as I need to attend college in the upcoming future, also that I haven't worked a job yet)

  3. Don't sell the Mac, upgrade the ssd to 512gb or 1TB and keep using the same laptop until it dies.

  4. You may suggest any idea for my situation.

I really need an answer that solves my problem.

Thanks :))

Is this a good score for a commerce student? (91.2%)

Hi, I've lately been thinking if the scores I got are good enough or not? (ik it sounds like Im tryna boast)

Many people I know from my old school always scored higher than me, but in the main examination I've come on the 10th place across all the streams. But I'm still not satisfied for God knows why.

I've been thinking that what use are these marks to me? Literally no one cares about my score, why did I study commerce so hard? (Yes I might have validation issues)

On the other hand due to the OSM marking, I've been thinking about the people who didn't get fair scores, whereas I got 91.2%.

Any opinions on this guys?
