What tests should I be asking for?
Hi 👋 I’m 36F with low AMH and male factor.
I have been through 3 cycles of IVF with ICSI and I’m running out of hope. I have had a HyCoSy and hysteroscopy. Apart from a slight curve (heart shape) in my uterus everything was deemed normal. We take all of the recommended supplements and live a healthy lifestyle.
Cycle 1 - long antagonist protocol
8 eggs, 6 mature, 3 fertilised, 1 blastocyst
Fresh transfer - failed to implant
Cycle 2 antagonist protocol
6 eggs, 4 mature, 3 fertilised, 2 blastocysts
Fresh transfer - failed to implant
Second blastocyst was not okay for freezing on day 6
At this point the clinic told me there are no more tests they can do. They told us to consider an egg donor as it’s likely egg quality. We decided to have 1 more go. We always said three full cycles would be our cut off but I feel like this was when I was naive and expected to have more embryos.
Cycle 3 - antagonist protocol with duel trigger shot
5 eggs, 4 fertilised, 3 blastocysts
Fresh transfer - MMC
HB12 embryo and HB21 embryo frozen
I have read a lot about tests on the uterus (EMMA, ALICE) but would like to know experiences of this? Positives, negatives and impact?
I wish I had my embryos tested but it was not even presented as an option (UK). I am not going to thaw and freeze as I worry they won’t make it through that twice.
What else can I try? How long do extra tests take? Is it my uterus? Am I just on the wrong side of statistics?
Sadly, I have just had a miscarriage so will be waiting for a few months for things to return to normal.
Thanks 🙏
