I built a dotted world map because I thought it'd look cool. Then realized my camera roll could fill it in.
Started building a dotmap of the world because I thought it would look cool. Then it hit me: I could use my camera roll to populate it with every country I've been to.
A few weeks later it had turned into an app that scans your photos and dots your travels on the map.
It's called Dotted. Most people remember half their trips. Your photos remember all of them.
You point it at your camera roll, it scans on-device, and trips start dropping onto the map one by one. First time I ran it on my own library I ended up scrolling through every trip looking at old photos for an hour.
A timeline shows your trips year by year. Stats show how much of the world you've covered. Share cards turn it into something you can post. For older trips that predate your camera roll, you can fill those in manually.
Everything runs on-device. No accounts, no uploads, no servers. Your photos never leave your phone.
